According to census records, 1930 and 1940, I show her parents listed as Roy W. and Rachel Schenk, plus a sibling, Glenis A. I cannot find anything for Verna beyond the birth May 23, 1943.

Our paternal grandfather had multiple cancers‚ dying from 2‚ and I feel like he should know to be on the look out for in the future.
1436. Tcast2007 : The birth certificate states the birth took place in Jackson County. Adopted parents say the hospital doesn’t exist anymore. I have been told adoptee was taken from mother at birth and lived in an orphanage for about a year. Supposedly the birth father tried to get custody at one point but the courts ruled for him to stay with the adopted parents.
1437. Cehunt23 : Hello, my mother was adopted off the black market. She did not know about her adoption until after her (adoptive) father passed away. Her (adoptive) mother did not have much information. My mother’s birth certificate shows that she has several siblings. It lists her birth mother’s name as Virginia Lee Platt and her birth father as Samuel Phelps. My mother was given the name Tina Marie Phelps at birth (St. Louis, MO). It would be neat to find out more information about her birth family.

I’m not sure what hospital but the doctor that delivered me was phillip j Goldstein at 216 south kings highway. The adopted birth certificate was filed on may 9th,1963. My adopted parents names are Ann Sue Roger’s and Colin Charles Campbell of Edina Missouri.
