That letter was used to start my first name I was taken into foster care at two days old right from the hospital, and my foster parents adopted me, which I am told took roughly two years.
1232. Rick51969 : I was born in Concord, NC, in Cabarrus County, in the then named Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. I only know my mother was 5"-5"3" tall and was around 28 years old at time of birth, and had four daughters already. Her last name at time of my birth started with an "R" and the hospital called me Rick using the first letter of my birth mothers last name.
1233. Tom61 : My birth mother was approximately 16 years old at the time of my birth. She lived in the Salvation Army home for women in Durham NC.
What little I know of my birth father is he was approximately 21 years old and married.
1234. SATXSpring1970 : UPDATE, 05/26/2019: DNA testing completed. My birth father was Thomas Edward Kennedy, a Navy airplane mechanic that was based in San Antonio, Texas in 1969. I am still seeking my birth mother.
- My mother was "allowed to believe" I was adopted into a state other than Texas, but I was born in San Antonio, and adopted into a wonderful family in Corpus Christi, Texas.
- My adoption was managed by Reverend Joseph L. Brown, Rector of The Church of Reconciliation - Episcopal, in San Antonio, Texas.
- Dick Conolly connected my adoptive family with Rev. Brown.
- Richard Bradshaw of the Law Offices of Allison, Maddin, White & Brin, Inc. oversaw the legal paperwork. My adoption was finalized July 24th, 1970 at 2pm.
I am thankful to be alive! I have a wonderful family and career, and a desire to express gratitude to the brave, selfless woman who carried me to term so I could be here. I am curious about my birth father and want him to know that I am alive, well, and enjoying life. My adoptive family was the greatest gift anyone could have given me. The Records indicate she was born in Charlotte‚ NC at Charlotte Memorial Hospital and adopted out in North Carolina through the Mecklinburg County‚ NC D.S.S. and the Court of McDowell County out of Marion‚ NC.
The date was not listed‚ but we believe she was born between the years of 1980 and 1985 in Charlotte‚ NC
Her Birth Mother’s Name was: Deborah W. Clark She may have also been listed as Deborah Whitaker Clark.
1236. BusyMama : He was born with a hole in his heart and one eye crossed. He went straigt from the hospital to the Children’s Home Society in Greensboro, NC. He was placed with his Adoptive Parents June 1, 1963. The adoption was finalized May 20, 1964.
The Birth mother was 19 and already had a 2 to 2 1/2 yr old son.
