1502. Kristina73 : My father is listed as her/ him on birth certificate.. his name was William Thomas Lanning. I’m not sure the mother. A half sisters first name is Donna
1503. Dsyeaton : We looked for decades for a missing cousin. We found his sibling several years ago via cousinconnect and him this year (2019) via DNA, about two weeks before their birth mother our aunt died.
She was born in 1960 and adopted in FL. He was born in 1958, adopted in CA, and lives in UT.
At our aunt’s funeral, neighbors told us that in her last months, she told them she had children. Three or four children. Neighbors have told us that the aunt (born 1936) became pregnant in high school (1950-1955 if this is true) or at age 17 (1953-1954 if this is true) and was sent to FL to have the baby.
We do not know much: mother’s maiden name, if listed: Anderson, birth state of mother: MA, she was very tall and thin, loved animals and dogs, Danish, German, English ethnicity. We have done DNA on ancestrydna and 23andme.
If this is you....or you think it could be you because part of the story matches...please do DNA testing so that we can see if we match!
And we are unsure why there were said to be: three or four children. Could it have been twins, which run in our family? Or is there another child with a different birth year and possible different birth and adoption state? These birth years are only guesses...it conceivably could have been any time after her birth in 1936 as maybe a teen (1949 or before?) to menopause (maybe before 1986?) but most likely in the 1950s or 1960s. Do any of these guesses for you or someone you know? We are a dozen cousins looking for decades!
1504. BobAndMitzi : She was in our foster care through the Children’s Home Society in Greensboro, NC for several months until her adoption on November 22, 1986. She was an adorable brown-skinned infant, full of life and love.
1505. Jmorris4773 : I was adopted from Greensboro Children’s Home on May 11‚ 1973. Born April 7‚ 1973. I have Strawberry Blonde hair‚ 5’4‚ and 125lbs. From my understanding my mother was around 17 years old when she gave birth to me.
1506. Calli2018 : I am looking for my half-sister. Her biological father was Donald Mozingo, and her biological mother was Sandra Fay Frank at the time of birth. Her name is now Sandra Fay/Frank Harmon, and she is my mother. The last known name given to my half-sister was Cynthia Diane (no knowledge of the last name at this time). The facility where our mother gave birth was an "Unwed Mother’s Home" in Kinston, NC...which I believe is no longer standing. The documents regarding the adoption were sealed. It is worth noting that our mother, who was not suppose to see Cynthia, fed her for 3 days after birth before any of the nurses could be able to satiate the young, crying baby. It’s also worth noting that Cynthia was expected to be a small baby, around 6-7lbs but instead was a whopping 10-13lbs. Our mother was only 17/18 at the time of the birth. I was born quite a bit later in her life. Our mother is now 69 years of age, which would make Cynthia roughly 50-52 at the time of writing this. Her biological father was, by our mother’s account, not the best man in the world, and had told our mother to get an abortion and send him the bill. Thankfully, she didn’t listen. However, growing up in quite the abusive homelife, our mother also knew she couldn’t bring a baby into the turmoil she was forced to live in. She would want Cynthia to know that she gave her up in order to give her the best life possible, and hopes that she has been happy, successful, and had a full life. Above all else, I suppose our mother and I hope that, given her age, she is still alive. I hope to meet her one day. I’ll be 30 soon, and our mother will be 70. I hope against hope that our mother will be able to be reunited with her first-born before she leaves this world.
1507. B3llak : I was born in Raleigh North Carolina at Wake Med Hospital. I was adopted by a NICU nurse in the same hospital that took care of me after I was born.
1509. HLEe11 : I recieved information that I have a son and I wanted to locate him for the DNA TEST. Also be able to put my name on his birth certificate so when he gets of age he will be able to locate me, and in the growth I would like to have contact with him. But everything is based on the DNA test. Also I have pictures of him sent from his birth mom.
1510. Bell1958 : He was born in Charlotte North Carolina and had been at the Florence Crittendon home for unwed mothers. He was adopted within 6 months of birth.
1513. Aethomas_ : Hi, I am writing to find information for my mothers birth parents / my grandparents. I would like for her to meet them and if not wanting to meet I would like to know for Medical history etc. My mom was born in Wake county (she thinks) NC. Her adopted mother’s name was Barbara Huffman and dad Edward Huffman
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
