I was born in NC but I returned to SC after my birth. I know my birthfathers name was Carl Brown who lived on Lee St. in Columbia‚ SC when I was born‚ 10/07/1984. My birthmother had no other children at that time. I was placed with a foster family in Columbia while my birthmother tried to figure out how she could keep me. My birthparents fought while pregnant with me and then split up. I was placed through the Children’s Bureau of SC.
My birth mother was small build with olive complexion. She appeared to be homeless prior to her pregnancy. She lived with her grandparents when young and was hospitalized for depression when her grandmother died. I think she had 2 sisters. I lived with a foster family until Dec. 7‚ 1984. Then I was placed with my New family in Charleston‚ SC.
The legal adoption took place when I was about 4 or 5 years old then.
417. Wayne62743 : My name is Wayne Linder and I am 74 years old. I was born on June 27, 1943. My birth mother left me with a friend when I was 1 years old. The man I thought was my father told me when I was 16 that I wasnt his and that my mother had gotten pregnant with me while he was away in WW 2. My birth certificate says I was born at Ft Devens army hospital in leominster, MA. It says my mother’s name is Betty Alese Hollingsworth Linder, and that her birthplace is Rockingham, NC. I have looked all my life and cannot find anything out about her. The man that is listed as my father actually left me with a couple when I was 2 and came back and got me when I was 9. His name was Hamilton Alexander Linder. He was very mean and abusive and I left home when I was 16. I never was legally adopted and I have always wondered who my blood relatives were. I’m getting old and would love to find my mother’s family before I pass away. I have 2 pictures of her and what’s on my birth certificate but that’s it. If anybody could help it would greatly appreciated.

He is white and as of Aug 2025 he would be 28 years old.
