A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within North Carolina Who Chose To Be Featured
1801. MadisonCherie : My son Dalton James Minton was in a foster home while I was away, I went to better myself for me and my children in hopes of getting them back. When I returned I was informed that my son who was at the foster home was seperated from my daughter (his big sister) and sent off to an adoption center somewhere in North Carolina. After that I was never able to get any more information about where he mat be. Please help!
1802. JGanus : I gave birth to my son in Mecklenburg County in Charlotte, NC on September 17, 1991 at CMC hospital. At the time of his birth we lived in Monroe, NC. I don’t know if his birth name is anything that he is aware of but just in case, he was born Alexander Michael Strout. I was very young when he was born and was in foster care myself. I did my very best but at the age of 17, when my son was about a year and a half I made the difficult decision to place him for adoption in the hopes of giving him the best chance at a good and stable life. I wanted to put this information out here so that he has a better chance to find me if he so chooses. I do not want to disrupt his life or cause him any pain but I am here with open arms and still carrying with me all the love I have held for him since the day he was born.
1803. GatewoodTrav : I am an African-American Male. I’ve been told my father may have been Puerto-Rican/Dominican and my mother a teenage black girl. My dad may have been a musician and teacher. My mother’s family may have been into sports. Father may have been from Bronx area not sure. Given up for adoption at birth in Charlotte, NC. Born and raised there by adopted parents. Looking for parents, family, a blood relative.
1807. Coxj1109 : I was born to what I was told a YOUNG caucasian girl from European ancestry on November 9, 1980. My biological mother immediately terminated her rights and placed me for adoption.
I was adopted through Children’s Home Society out of Greensboro, NC.
My biological father never signed my adoption paperwork instead his rights were terminated by the Guildford County Court System in April 1980. I was told he was also young, caucasian, and from European decent.
1811. RachelinDallas : I have a photo from 1949 of a little boy. My grandmother wrote on it: "Robert Lee Yarbrough. Warren’s son." My father, Warren Yarbrough, sowed a lot of wild oats while married and not. I don’t think little Robert was adopted, but he might have been by a subsequent mother’s husband. Still he looks to have been old enough in the photo to know what his name was. Warren went on to remarry at least three times that we know of, although we don’t know if he was married to little Robert’s mother. He fathered a son in 1957 also named Robert Lee Yarbrough, who is still alive. I would love to meet and/or know more about this former little boy if he would care to reach out. Perhaps if he’s always needed some comfort about his father abandoning him, I can provide it.
1813. JGraves : I am looking for my daughter, Genelle Infinity Marie Graves, who I haven’t seen since she was 7 years old. She is now 18 years old. She was born at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, New York.
1814. JGraves : I am looking for my son, Deven Nasir Marques Graves, who I haven’t seen since he was 5 years old. He is now 16 years old and was born in the Bronx, New York at Weiler Hospital.
1815. JGraves : I am looking for my son, Malachi Shawn Chambers. He was born in what was Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina. He is now 11 years old, and I haven’t seen him since he was a little over a year old. He is possibly with his niece, Jada Wilson.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
