1031. MaryMN : Baby boy named Nicolis Gene was born on December 25, 1975 to Beverly Jeannine Bourke at Golden Valley Hospital in Golden Valley, MN. She had just turned 17 and was not able to care for her baby due to her age and an unstable home environment (her father was abusive and an alcoholic). She loved her baby and has said it was the hardest decision she ever had to make, but wanted better for her child than she had herself. The adoption was handled through Catholic Charities. She wrote him a letter, which she hopes was given to the adopted family and shared with her son.
1034. Beth4 : My biological father was born in Minnesota. I believe he was born in Minneapolis. He was adopted by Arthur and Mildred Schardin. He was given the name Stuart Glazer Schardin. He is deceased and my brother and I would like to know more about our family on our fathers side
1035. MPO601 : I am looking for my birth mother. I was born in Fort Frances, Ontario at Laverendrye Hospital. I was given up for adoption and was possibly in foster care for 4 months before my adoptive parents took custody of me in August of 1968. My adoptive parents are American and lived in Virginia, Minnesota at the time. I am trying to determine if my birth mother was American (which is what my adoptive parents were told) or Canadian. I was adopted through Catholic Charities but Catholic Charities in Duluth, MN states they have no record of my adoption. The only document I have is from an attorney in Minnesota who is no longer alive. I do have a copy of my birth record from Ontario, Canada which lists my adoptive parents names.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
