A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Minnesota Who Chose To Be Featured
2026. Tammyje : I am searching for a half brother that my mom was forced to give up for adoption by her own mother. The adopting family probably has no knowledge of this. It occurred in Northern Minnesota‚ maybe in Bemidji. Birth month and year is May 23 1969. First name given at birth was Scott possible last name Burch. I recently had a DNA match on Ancestry.com to a man with the name of Thomas Cox. I have reached out with a message but have not received a message back.
2027. Tracey66 : December 8‚ 1964 in Fargo‚ North Dakota. He was adopted to a family that lived in Moorhead‚ MN. Maybe the adoption took place in Minnesota or North Dakota.
Non-identifying info: birth mother was 19. French-English descent. Birth grandmother was afflicted with TB and was in a sanatorium for a few years before discharged as non-active. Birth mother has a brother and 2 sisters.
Birth father was 22. German-English descent.
2028. Tracey66 : I was born in Duluth‚ Mn on August 10‚ 1966. My birth parents already had 3 children and were going through a divorce. Neither of them felt that they could raise a baby. I have since learned that my mother’s husband‚ at the time of my birth‚ is not my father. So I am beginning the search for my father again. My birth mother (Connie) passed away in 2000. She is originally from Deer River‚ MN. Had lived in Duluth. She lived in Onamia‚ MN at the time of her death.
My birth father may not even be aware that he has a daughter.
2029. Mimi_Johnson_Kanni : Alexis Nicole Meyers/Holey adopted by Crystal and Michael Myers. At the time they lived in Waseca Minnesota. Alexis
was born in Shakopee‚ Minnesota. All court proceedings were in LeSeur County Minnesota. We were living in LeSeur‚ Minnesota at the time. She has 2 other biological siblings that were adopted with her by the same people. Krista and Hunter who are both older than her. I would love to have contact if you are interested. If you have no interest in that or my side of the story about what happened I will respect that to. I was not in good mental health at the time and had never had any until shortly before you were taken. I was in court for over a year and did everything they asked but they ultimately decided because of my untreated mental health and my childhood that I was incapable of parenting to the level required by law. I never wanted any of this to happen. I always wanted to protect you. At the end of the day I was the adult who failed you. I am so very sorry this ever happened. I have spoken to Krista and am currently looking for Hunter at this time since he is a legal adult. Please know that because the courts made your adoption Closed none of your biological family has been legally allowed to have contact with any of you until you are legally an adult.
2030. Kwhite_ : My adopted name is Kayla Med*** but my birth mother planned to name me Jordan White (jordan because they thought i was going to be a boy). I think she was 16-18 when she had me and she was around the St. paul Minnesota area.
2031. Sevick : Searching for my older brother and sister:
David Allen Bayless: DOB: 09/06/1960 at a Catholic Hospital Becky Marie Bayless: DOB: 02/04/1961 at City General (Birthdates are approximate).
Their mother was Carol Ann Preston DOB 03/12/1941and their father was James Leroy Bayless Born 1937 (Approx). They lived in Minneapolis Minnesota. The kids were removed from the home in approximately 1964. I learned that my brother was adopted‚ and my sister remained in foster care until she aged out.
2032. Mounces : St. Paul‚ Ramsey County Minnesota‚ likely Booth Memorial Hospital‚ unwed mother named Eileen Anna Seydel (nee Winberg). Mother was pregnant at Thanksgiving 1955 and close to due date may have delivered anywhere from December 1 1955 to February 28‚ 1956. Mother is deceased father unknown but has a nickname "Bix‚" possibly last name Bixby. I am a half sibling looking to find this relative.
2037. Schamberlain : A daughter was born in November of 1888 and adopted by David & Minnie (Wolfe) Howell in Minneapolis‚ MN. DNA indicates the mother is likely a member of the Reymond family of Barnum‚ Carolton Co.‚ MN French Canadians who came to MN from Quebec via VT and NY. This was a large family and many went on to Oregon. I have not been able to identify a likely member of the family who could be the mother‚ so one of the sons might be the father. Census records are clear that the girl’s mother was French Canadian. Upon adoption she was given the name "Pearl." She may also have had a brother per DNA or half brother who also was adopted by a family that went to California.
2038. Troyswitajewski : My biological mother’s name is Diane. I was placed for adoption in 1985 and I just learned that she also had another son she gave up for adoption in November 1981. She had me in wright county‚ MN but is from st. Cloud‚ MN so sibling could have been born there.
2039. NicoleCelesteSkrove : My name is Nicole Celeste Skrove. I was born 1/13/1983‚ I was born at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale‚ Minnesota and I am 41. I was part of an open adoption that I believe was finalized in 1985 but my adoptive mother Trudy Skrove is dead and my adoptive father David Skrove has refused to speak to me for a very long time. I have been told my biological parents are named Karen and John Wilcox and I have a picture of my mother and I look very much like her. As of the moment I’m not looking to have a deep and meaningful relationship but if they are still alive I would like to meet them. I was born with a club foot and had that lower leg amputated in July of 2023. I work for a bank‚ I have an almost 12 year old daughter and I swear I’m always tired.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
