My adoptive parents were each 29 years old at the time of the adoption and had longed for a family with children. They have both passed now‚ but were two amazing people that were married for over fifty years. It was a close family that now continues for other generations.

When he was adopted‚ I sent a care-box with him. It had a letter explaining why he was placed for adoption from me‚ a letter from my mom‚ and possibly one of my sisters might have written him a note too. The box also had two pictures of me pregnant with him and photos of his birth. I also bought him a musicbox with a black horse on it and there was a blue and white afgan blanket knitted for him by the church I belonged to at the time. I don't want to impose on his life or his family's life‚ so I'm not going to actively search for him. I do want him to know that I would be thrilled to meet or at least talk to him‚ so I'm doing what I can to make it easy for him to find me‚ if he so desires.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
