A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Minnesota Who Chose To Be Featured
1741. Angelaxr7 : My brother was born on 7/2/1976 and was taken from my mom on 7/3/1976 as part of a black-market adoption ring common during that era in San Francisco‚ CA. The baby was taken from my 14 year old mom as she was a runaway at the time. She was released from the University of California San Francisco Hospital (San Francisco County). My mom was initially allowed to see the baby (left unattended in a portable crib by her hospital bed). The next morning‚ a hospital employee informed her that her baby had died. They would not allow her to see her baby again‚ and when she asked about the burial‚ the nurse told her it was against the rules and that her child would instead be buried in mass grave. They had her sign some form resembling a "contract" that she didn’t understand. A few years ago‚ I happened to cross paths with a retired RN who happened to work in the SF area during those years with her husband who was a physician. She was quite familiar with‚ and apologetic for‚ the unfortunate practice of black-market adoptions at those hospitals‚ during that era. She was a wealth of information and informed me that we are possibly looking for a child with a birth certificate filed within a few days of 7/2/76 with the generic name "Baby Boy" on the birth certificate. The retired RN I spoke with mentioned that the hospital staff would not have filed a false death certificate for these types of situations due to the legal implications of filing a false death record.
On May 27‚ 2022 - We confirmed with the vital records office in San Francisco that there is a certificate of live birth but no death record exists for my brother which confirms he did not die in the hospital on July 3‚ 1976 and that the hospital indeed lied.
1744. JanetAnnAdams : Looking for my half brother. Born as James Adams I believe.
I hear he was adopted and possibly moved out to the
mid west from the east coast.
My fathers Name is Roger Adams. I do not know my
half brothers mothers name
1745. Sglapion82 : I was born in Forest Lake‚ Minnesota in 1982. My birth mother was born in 1964 in New York State. My birth mother was also adopted. I was adopted through Children’s Home Society of Minnesota. I also have a half sister was born in 1985 from my birth mother in Robbinsdale‚ Minnesota. She was also placed for adoption at Children’s Home Society and adopted by my adoptive parents so we could grow up together. My birth mother is bi-racial( African American/Caucasian).
1746. Ahinton83 : My name is Andrew Hinton. I’m looking for my biological family. I was born 9/13/1983 in Rochester‚ MN. I was adopted through Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota.
1747. WasSaraOnce : I was adopted in Duluth‚ MN at 3 months old. I believe my birth mother had another daughter who she put up for adoption 1-3 years after me. Due to a retirement my adoptive parents didn’t find out about her until she was adopted to someone else.
I believe I was adopted through Lutheran Social Services.
1749. Smita2006 : I was born in Bangalore and dropped off at an orphanage‚ (Reach Out was the organization) about 10 days after my mom had me. The story I know is that my birth mother was young and was working as a maid. Moved from northern India to southern to live with her Aunt where she then had me.
1752. Ghs711 : Looking for birth father named Mark Anderson who lived at 2214 Emerson ave so. Minneapolis Minnesota about 1968. The mothers name is Myra Maki
1753. Lilialindgren : My mother was born in the Winona hospital on July 8th 1973 and is searching for her adoptive parents in hope of obtaining medical information for herself and children.
1754. Shayshaybowser33 : I am in search for my uncle who was token away from my family when I was 18 years old. We tried to fight to have home but he could not go into my mom’s care and the jury granted him to stay with adopted family. They said they had moved my uncle out of the state and he was only 5 years old at the time. He is now 14 and has grown up. I feel it’s best for him to know his real family and if I can just talk to him to know where he is and he is safe. He has a big family who misses him so much. I don’t understand why authorities didn’t ask all family if someone could have him. I had my own place at the time and still to this day‚ I just don’t believe it’s fair to keep him away from his love ones. If anyone could give me info I would very much appreciate any information I can on my uncle. His name is Malik Chestnut. My name is Antwania Bowser. Thank you much
