1477. StJohn55 : I had my son 11th of February 1972. Then I was known as Dianne Gordon and I came from Tasmania. The father was Gerald Gordon or Gerry Gordon. I think I called my son Damien. He was born in the Women's Crown Street Hospital. I not sure if I signed the forced adoption papers at the hospital or after at the unmarried Mothers home ‚ possibly at the home‚ I went to after. I remember the home had the unmarried pregnant mothers upstairs on the top floor and the mothers who had their babies on the bottom floor. I had no choice than to adopt as my then partner said if I didn't‚ he would throw me out into the street. I was a 16-year-old girl with nowhere to go and a runaway at the time and didn't want the authorities to find me and send me home‚ so I had to comply. You were a forced adoption.

It was her mother's 5th pregnancy and the Dr concerned [now deceased] had pressured her throughout the pregnancy to have the child adopted‚ because of her family's poor economic situation. Twins were undiagnosed‚ and mother was sedated during second birth. Only took one child home‚ a son named William‚ who was half the birth weight of her previous babies. Father's surname DENNISS‚ mother's maiden name McKENZIE‚ both deceased. William is also deceased. His son‚ is awaiting Ancestry DNA results. that I will have access to. Any help appreciated.
