I had my son 11th of February 1972. Then I was known as Dianne Gordon and I came from Tasmania. The father was Gerald Gordon or Gerry Gordon. I think I called my son Damien. He was born in the Women's Crown Street Hospital. I not sure if I signed the forced adoption papers at the hospital or after at the unmarried Mothers home ‚ possibly at the home‚ I went to after. I remember the home had the unmarried pregnant mothers upstairs on the top floor and the mothers who had their babies on the bottom floor. I had no choice than to adopt as my then partner said if I didn't‚ he would throw me out into the street. I was a 16-year-old girl with nowhere to go and a runaway at the time and didn't want the authorities to find me and send me home‚ so I had to comply. You were a forced adoption.
