I have often thought about searching for my mother‚ but always held back because of the feelings of rejection that surfaced in my adolescence‚ and the fear that they would be intensified if I was to be rejected again. It wasn’t until a few years ago I became familiar with the notion of forced adoptions. My adopted mother gave me quite a bit of paper work about 13 years ago‚ and the limited details in that paperwork would certainly support a forced adoption. Today the Australian Parliament issued an apology for those separated by forced adoptions. I realised this could be in fact an apology to me and my mother.
