A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Greater London Who Chose To Be Featured
271. Tracyb1966 : Looking for My Aunt called Kathleen who was born March 1954.
273. Elizabethjstyles : I was born around 6am at Rush Green Hospital in Dagenham, on 14/11/72, and my adoptive parents called me Elizabeth Jane Styles.
I understand that I was adopted shortly after birth, and that both my birth parents, while based in the East End of London at the time, were in fact both Scottish.
I was told at c.3 years old that I was adopted, and told at 18 that my birth mother gave me up for adoption as the situation for us both would have otherwise been untenable - I was informed that the birth father was so violent that she feared for both our lives, and so I was adopted and she moved to New Zealand.
I understand that, until I was 18, my birth mother kept in contact with my adoptive parents every 6 months via their respective solicitors by letter, with photographs being exchanged each time, although I was never privy to those communications.
274. Shanni79 : My grandmother was visited by her birth son and she sent him away because she was afraid that her husband would find out she gave her first child up for adoption. She was about 15 or 16 when she had her son, sometime around 1967. I believe his name is Steven. I would like to contact him. My grandmother passed away in 2006 in California and her name is Alice Josephine Montague. Her birthday is 4/5/1941 and she was born in Belfast Ireland. She went to England to give her baby up for adoption and I am unaware of which particular county where she did this.
275. Msullivan8290 : Born may 18, 1960. Given Birth name was Julie (rose is a possible given middle name). Adopted by American parents. Adoptive father was in the US military.
280. Suzanna10 : I was born in Wolverhampton. My mother, Helen who is from Glasgow met my birth father when she was working in Edgware North London. They dated for a few months. I believe his name is Gordon, although he called himself Tony. He was from a wealthy jewish family.
282. MarylouPresley : Hi Mum Dad and Malcom
I always think of you especially on special days and when I feel really sad. I would like to get to know you and understand who I am.
283. Thevole : Looking for a child originally named Sharon Rogge-Jacoba (or Jacobs) born in London at Bethnal Green Hospital to Chantal Rogge-Jacobs and adopted shortly after birth.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
