My mother had a daughter 7 years before I was born and unfortunately she felt at the time that she had no other option but to put her up for adoption. I literally knew nothing about this until recently and I always believed that I was an only child. Unfortunately my mother passed away 20 years ago now so I have no way of finding out more details. All I have is a name and a birth certificate.
I would dearly love to know more about her and the only details I have are that she was born to Christine Olga Hawtin in April 1966 at the Weir Maternity Hospital in Balham‚ London. My mother at the time lived in Westwell Road‚ Lambeth and the Superintendent Registrar was a J.J. Jackson. The adoption date was the 13th of May 1966.
