80. Queenslander : my name is Diane and I have been trying to search for my daughter whom I named Nicola she was born in Birmingham England I was a single mum and in 1964 no assistance was given to single mums. At the time of my daughters birth. I had to keep my daughter until she was six weeks old before I could hand her over for adoption this was extremely hard but for the sake of my beautiful baby this was the best as had I handed her over at birth she would have gone to foster care with no certainty of adoption this was very hard but I felt this was best.
I have cherished memories and photo’s of my beautiful baby and was told that she was going to a family in West Ryding in Yorkshire England I was sent a photo of her when she was 4 months old which I cherish and never a day goes by that I don’t think of her and hope I did the right thing and she had a wonderful family. my dearest wish is to hear from her.
