474. Nshamley : I was born at grace hospital in November of 1957. I requested medical records from Grace Hospital but apparently they have been destroyed. I was released to my adoptive family 17 days after my birth. They registered my birth on December 2 1957 and it was issued on April 9, 1959. I was named at this tome as Nancy Jean Wemyss. I completed DNA testing and have been in contact with first cousins. These first cousins are under the impression that I am possibly a biological half-sister or full sister! If I am a cousin the biological parents have deceased. If I am a sister biological mother is still alive father unknown. I am told that my possible last name on her original birth certificate may have been under the name of Spiers. Either Dorothy or Ruby. I am aware of the sensitivity surrounding this issue. Biological mother may have reasons to have kept this a secret for 60 years. I understand it is her story to tell and hopefully she will feel she can trust me to complete my story. I am in contact with Aunt/Mother. I’ve also just sent off a request to vital statistics for information and papers surrounding my birth and adoption. I am not sure what else I am entitled or can do to Expediate the information.
Thankyou
