Adoptive parents had already been selected. Closed adoption through Baptist Children’s Home in Memphis, TN. 189. Lindab527 : Looking for my birth mother. Norn in Nashville Tn I rhink at Baptist Hospital but not sure. This was a state Adoption. I am told my mother was 25 and unmarried.
190. Dgoodloe : Searching for my niece Labrelle Hayes (birthname) born 10/31/78 in Chattanooga TN at Erlanger Hospital. Biological Father-Floyd E. Hayes, Biological Mother- Rhonda Hayes. We were told she moved to Texas to attend college around 1997-2002 not sure if she resides in Texas or if she moved back to Tennessee. Familiar friends/acquaintances that know her are: Roy and Trisha Patterson Would love to reunite if possible or at least know that she is ok.
192. JHuskey : I am looking for my uncle. My Grandfather doesn’t like talking about it, but he had a son with a woman before he married my Grandmother. I think it might have been more of my grandmother that didn’t want it discussed openly. My father is the the oldest of their kids and remembers a knock at the door one day. It was a woman, a man, and a boy that was around five years older than him. My grandfather told my father and his siblings to go upstairs, but they eavesdropped from the top of the stairs. The man was asking my grandfather to sign adoption papers so that he could legally be the boy’s father. My family is extremely close. It haunts me to know that there could be a man out there that could be so much like my own father and his sisters (my aunts). I could have cousins and those cousins could have babies. My grandfather is still healthy but he is also getting older. My grandmother unfortunately passed about 5 years ago. I thought I would try to find my uncle before we lost my grandfather, too. I don’t have a lot of information, but I at least want to try.
193. Rendyhopper : Birth mother was Dorothy Joan Hopper, born in 1941, I think. She had a baby girl at around 16 or 17 years of age. She was sent away, had the baby, and no one in the family knew that she had a baby, until around the year 1995. She knocked on our door, and asked if we were the Hoppers related to her birth mother. We spent some time with her, but I have since divorced my husband, William Donald Hopper, who was Dorothy Joan Hopper’s brother. I am now 65 and my family is trying to get family records and get in touch with everyone scattered about. She was very sweet and I think she said her name was Tina.
194. Rendyhopper : Dorothy ( Joan) Hopper was birth mother, born 9/18/1941. She died January 2004. Joan’s parents were Dorothy Vowell Hopper and William Edward Hopper both who are deceased. I was married to the uncle of this child(woman) I am looking for. She visited our house in 1995 and said her name was Tina I think. She wanted to meet her birth mother, who declined to meet with her. I would like to talk to Tina (I think is her name) again and re-connect with my family. She was a very sweet young woman whose adopted parents were wonderful to her. I am 65 years old and just want to reach out to her and introduce my children and grandchildren to her.
195. Jaimi : I’m not sure if she was born in November or not. I wasn’t told my mother was pregnant until after she had already had her. She gave her to a man named Phil who had a radio station in Morristown or Knoxville TN called Phil and Billy in the morning. That’s all I know. I hope this works. Also, I think her birth father is Native American
