Birth father‘s name: unknown
Baby’s name at birth: Eric
Birth year: Between 1961-1965
I don’t have too many details. My mother shared the story with me before she passed away‚ and kept the details close to her. When she was a young girl living in La Pocatiere‚ Quebec she was in love with a boy and became pregnant. As it was very taboo in those times‚ her family did not want anyone to know so they shipped her out to her aunt‘s farm in Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies for the duration of her pregnancy and the birth. My mother told me she had given birth to a little boy. She was only able to hold him for a minute or less. She said he was beautiful. He had a mole on his cheek‚ and she named him Eric. They took him away from her and she never saw him again.
Unfortunately‚ I don’t know what year or month he was born. My mother was born in 1948 so i don’t think it would have been before 1960. She married my father at 18 which would’ve been 1966.
I have taken DNA tests with both ancestry and 23 and me‚ but have not yet found a match.
899. Rusane : I’m doing this search for my brother because he’s not very tec savvy and I can’t go help him because I’m in Alberta and he’s in Ontario.
His name is Paul Boyer. We think his birth name was Jan Talbot. He was born in Quebec Canada In July of ‘65. He was in foster care until he was 3 when he was adopted.
I know the Quebec files are open now but the backlog is horrendous. We will try every avenue available to find any family.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
