A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Quebec Who Chose To Be Featured
646. Christopherworsham : You were in upstate NY in 1968-71. You met my mother, an American woman from the south, while she was attending college. In September 1971 she became pregnant with your child. Because of her familiy’s Catholic background, she wouldn’t have an abortion - but could not remain in the family if she had a child out of wedlock. You two parted ways and she returned home, pregnant. She met a gay man who agreed to marry her and were promptly married. I was born on May 20, 1972. You visited me in the Midwest when I was 3 or 4 for a brief period. I believe you were living in either Montreal, Quebec City or Laval at the time.
648. AnitaVerde : I’m searching information on my great grandmother. I’ve found a quick note that said she was adopted and have been searching for answers for my mom and her siblings since. My grandfather has passed away and he had very little information on his mom to share since he was a toddler when he was taken from her and never saw her again. We’re trying to piece together pieces of our history to hopefully bring reconcelliation for our family as a whole.
650. AnethaMarieCobb : Marie Claire adopted name Charbonneau born 26 Sep 1927 Montreal, Canada died 13 Aug 1999 in Biloxi, Mississippi, USA.
Neal Albert Charbonneau born 24 Jul 1932 Montreal, Canada died 10 Oct 2014 Huntington Beach, California, USA.
Adopted parents, Joseph Alfred Raoul Charbonneau and Marie Brigette Dunn.
651. Bregittecarpentier52 : My mother’s name is Ginette Tremblay. At the time of birth, the legal age was 21 years old so she was 17 years old and her mother sing him up for adoption.
His was born in the years of 1968 or 1969.
I do not know the month do I do know that it was at the Maisonneuve Rosemont Hospital in Montreal, Quebec.
652. Nurseonwheels : Looking on behalf of my husband. He was the last child born to the family. There were older sibling, 5 I think. The adoption happened in Montreal. He was btwn 4-6 months old when adopted. Had a brother named Gordon. Mother’s husband was in the military. I suspect that husband was not his biological father. Name at birth was Hubert Hamblin
653. Sarahxoxgibson : Searching for my mother’s birth parents , or any potential biological relatives. My mom was born November 14th 1962 to a 19 year old in Quebec, Canada. I’ve heard the adoption went through Montreal Social Services, and that the 19 year old birth mother may have been a part of New Brunswick’s United Church. The adoptive parents were Levi & Betty Pauley of Montreal , Quebec , but they also would have been members of the NB United Church as they split their time between NB & Quebec.
654. Pandajelly : Born at the Catherine Booth Hospital in NDG, last name was MURRAY.
Was never officially adopted, only given to my ‘adopted’ mother from the time I was born. Although my birth certificate and baptism form has my birth mothers name listed as Marla Murray. Allegedly my birth mother worked at the hospital with my adoptive mother Ethel.
I don’t expect that either of my birth parents would still be alive today, although I am looking for information about wether the story I’ve been told is true. I was raised catholic but recent DNA test results have shown I am Jewish.
655. Bregittecarpentier52 : My mother’s name is Ginette Tremblay at the time of birth. Now she is married to Gilles Carpentier. He is not the birth father of my lost sibling.
656. ErinR0518 : I am the older sister of the birth mother Randi-Lee Lauren. Logan-lee is the child’s birth name born in a hospital in Montreal and placed in childcare. I was contacted after the passing of my sister in July 2011 and was offered the chance to adopt Logan. The agency tricked us and had already went to court and made us wait to get information until after the 30 days from the court was done and then cut off contact.
659. FacilitatingFlow : Looking for a child who was born in either Quebec, British Columbia or Alberta, in or around 1977. Birth mother name being Jody Lue Cowie. Unsure if she even had a baby. Going on a hunch. If you think you might know this baby/person/ adult , or if it’s you, please get in touch. I am a friend of the family and just looking for some clarity. Maybe you want to know and meet her?

I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
