499. TrevorJSkidmore : I was born in Sherebrooke Quebec on April 3rd 1946, and my adoptive parents lived in Asbestos Quebec at that time. I spent the first four years of my life in Asbestos before my adoptive father was transferred to Matheson Ontario in 1950.
500. Cheryllucienne : Hi there, I’m searching for a male sibling born in Quebec to Marie Louise Therese Gagnon. She was the 9th of 10 children born to Lucienne Berichon and Lucien Gagnon and born April 17th 1939 and lived in Verdun in Montreal. My mom Louise spent 8 years in the Catholic convent with a brother and a sister when the 2nd world war was in full swing due to economic hard times. When she was released from the convent at 16 years old she met a married man who promised to leave his wife when my mom got pregnant. Of course he never did. So my mom went to another city to carry out the pregnancy and give birth. She had a boy sometime before Mother’s Day but not sure when. She told me that she went to her sister’s house shortly after giving birth and was quite sad being among her siblings with all of their children and no one knew about her just giving birth.
She requested that I not try to find my sibling until her death. She sadly died of leukemia just 6 months ago. So I’m searching for a needle in a haystack.
I know nothing about her son, as she did not want to tell me anything.
My mom was 16 years old in 1955, and she met the married man shortly after that. So I believe that he was born likely in 1956 or 1957 and probably only a few months before Mother’s Day, which is in May. That could put his birth month either January through to May.
My mom was very dark hair, dark skin and tanned easily. She had hazel/green eyes and a rounded nose. She looked a little bit like perhaps Philippino or Native. She was 5’4 in her youth. She had a tiny frame with lots of curves. She worked for the government in Quebec and met my father on the military base there when it was still active. My mom loved to dance and was a great singer. She had the most beautiful neat and fluid handwriting and was very eloquent in her writing. She had a fantastic sense of humour and everyone loved her presence. She had a passion for politics and debate and was sharp minded.
503. Member148855 : I was born in the Jewish General Hospital. My adoption was done through Francis Fox in Montreal Quebec. I have met bio father (Stan Jehu) DNA was done and it was positive. Not interested. Am interested in Mother only. Barbara . Would like some medical background. Both adoptive parents deceased. No siblings. I am self sustained and happy. New friends welcome : )
504. Wilkinsons : My name is Stephanie and I am searching for my mother’s birth parents on behalf of her. Her name is Christine, and she was born in 1962 in Quebec. She lived at an Orphanage for the first year bit of her life, potentially called Hôtel-Dieu. On her birth certificate, the name was Jane. Hope we can connect :)
508. GregVilleneuve1983 : I was born in verdun Quebec on April 29th 1983.
I was adopted about 6 months after. I’ve been looking for my biological mother for almost 35 years. I know she was of Irish decent and was very creative like my self
All I know is my mother was around 16 when she had me and couldn’t take care of me as she was overwhelmed by it.
All I want to do is thank her for giving me the gift of adoption as I’ve faired very well in life.
My adoptive parents have both passed on extremely early in life and I’m just looking to see if I may have any half brothers or sisters in the world.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
