623. AngieSbeck : I am searching for the birth family of my deceased grandmother, Marie Laurette Dufour born September 1, 1927. She was an only child to Angelina Cardinal and Wilfrid Dufour. She was aware she was adopted and upon her father’s death she returned to Canada from Florida to attend to the funeral and personal matters. Her adoption papers were kept in the home but she was never able to locate them. It was rumored among family that Wilfrid was her biological father and that her biological mother was a young woman. Whom is a mystery. Looking for any information on her adoption to solve a family mystery. She looks so much like Wilfrid the story is believable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did attempt to contact her when she was eighteen‚ not wanting to disturb her life but to let her know I was available should she want. According to the social worker‚ she was not interested. She’ll be 68 this year. Over all this time haven’t found a peep…am surprised she’s not more curious… probably understandably scared rather. She has 11 wonderful cousins (all same age bracket)‚ their kids‚ 3 uncles‚ one aunt. & I believe 3 half sisters +?? on her father’s side. Giving her up was the most painful thing ever. She is my one and only child. I believe the hole in my heart would be filled should we find each other. I so hope she’s been well all these years. Time is running out‚ as I’ll be 80 this year. So sad.

I am searching for my birth parents... The information I’ve obtained thus far is they are of Romanian/Moldova/Germany/Hungarian decent. I’ve found out that a family immigrated to the US and their last names are ‘Schmidt/Schmied/Beglau/Kunusch/Stepanov’.
I also found out that there may have been another family that might have immigrated to Canada/USA and their last names are ‘Schwarz/Welty/Hamman/Mader/Hümer(Haters)/Black/Blacksmith/Smith/Smythe/Krumpholz’.... I am on Family tree DNA as well I uploaded to gedmatch as well...
