My birth mother was 23 at the time of my birth, she is now deceased, I believe around 2017. Once the birth records were opened in Quebec, I was given her name which is Jeanette Côté. I don’t know anything about her, so I was hoping to get a little history about her. She did not list the father in the adoption papers, so I know nothing about him either.

She came to Canada from England as a home child in 1904 after her father died, her mother was placed in a workhouse and 3 of her siblings were also sent to Canada as home children. The 3 siblings were able to find each other but never found Lucy. All information after her arrival ceased and because of her young age, therefore we believe she was adopted.
