A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within South Carolina Who Chose To Be Featured
1411. BlakeFloyd : My name is Blake Floyd and I am the biological father.
Misty Lynn Shealy was the biological mother
She gave him up without consulting me.
He was born in south Carolina (probably Lexington county) at the end of 2001-beginning of 2002.
I believe his name is Matthew.
I was told his adopted parents were a mixed race couple (black and white) not sure who was what race.
Any help appreciated
1412. Mbeth67 : I was born in Darlington SC. I know my birth mom had 4 sons already and she had gotten pregnant with me with a guy she met at a bar and had a one night fling with. She was single and could not afford to keep me. I was told she had red hair and that my bio father was in the service.
1413. Mbeth67 : My mom had 4 sons when she had me. She was a single mom and could not afford to keep me. I was told she had red hair and she had had a one night fling with a man (sailor) she met at a bar. I was in Darlington SC.
1415. CheriCoppens : My brother and I are in search of our biological grandparents on our mother’s side‚ or anybody else from her biological family. We are not sure if they are alive or not. My mother who became Debra Ann Watkins when she was adopted as a baby was born in Columbia‚ SC ar the Baptist Hospital. She was originally suppose to be adopted by my Aunt and Uncle and my aunt got pregnant with her oldest son and decided to cancel the adoption. Then my grandparents John and Annie Watkins adopted her because my granny felt sad about the situation and she was already past her child barring years and could not give my grandaddy children of their own. That is about all we know. My mom was born on July 20‚ 1958. I am not sure if this will be helpful at all but it is worth a shot.
1417. EllenFinger : My adopted parents believed my birth mother was a college student and birth father was in the army. I was born in Savanah Georgia‚ but birth mother may have been from Charleston‚ SC. I am curious to find my birth mother and understand the need to be aware of their feelings about a reunion.
1418. BNVercher : I’m looking for my brother‚ Shawn‚who would have been around 5 years old when we were separated. As well as‚ my sister‚ Shanadore who was the age of 1 or a little less.
We were all born in Gaffney South Carolina to our mother‚ Diane Lockhart.
1419. Angelaxr7 : My brother was born on 7/2/1976 and was taken from my mom on 7/3/1976 as part of a black-market adoption ring common during that era in San Francisco‚ CA. The baby was taken from my 14 year old mom as she was a runaway at the time. She was released from the University of California San Francisco Hospital (San Francisco County). My mom was initially allowed to see the baby (left unattended in a portable crib by her hospital bed). The next morning‚ a hospital employee informed her that her baby had died. They would not allow her to see her baby again‚ and when she asked about the burial‚ the nurse told her it was against the rules and that her child would instead be buried in mass grave. They had her sign some form resembling a "contract" that she didn’t understand. A few years ago‚ I happened to cross paths with a retired RN who happened to work in the SF area during those years with her husband who was a physician. She was quite familiar with‚ and apologetic for‚ the unfortunate practice of black-market adoptions at those hospitals‚ during that era. She was a wealth of information and informed me that we are possibly looking for a child with a birth certificate filed within a few days of 7/2/76 with the generic name "Baby Boy" on the birth certificate. The retired RN I spoke with mentioned that the hospital staff would not have filed a false death certificate for these types of situations due to the legal implications of filing a false death record.
On May 27‚ 2022 - We confirmed with the vital records office in San Francisco that there is a certificate of live birth but no death record exists for my brother which confirms he did not die in the hospital on July 3‚ 1976 and that the hospital indeed lied.
1420. JanetAnnAdams : Looking for my half brother. Born as James Adams I believe.
I hear he was adopted and possibly moved out to the
mid west from the east coast.
My fathers Name is Roger Adams. I do not know my
half brothers mothers name

1423. MicheleHinson1 : Around that time I was in a bad place I wanted him to have a good upbringing and my mind and my body was addicted to drugs I am clean now I feel separated from him about a bad choice I made in life. I never once gave him up or signed any papers saying I wanted him to go away they just took him away from me he was even born clean he was in my stomach for 7 months only in Columbia South Carolina Richland memorial and the next day DSS took him away. I wish to find him not to take him from away from his family but just to see him to let him know I am sorry and to let him know I never one day ever went by that I never thought about him.
Please help me to find him anyone he should be right around 17 ‚18 years old. Like I said I do not want to interrupt his life or cause him any trouble or any confusion just want him to know that I am his real birth mother I don’t feel complete without meeting him and it is in my dreams to meet him before I die.
