A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within South Carolina Who Chose To Be Featured
136. Kevinwarren : I know my birth mother. Her name was Betty Warren. Her parents, my maternal grand parents, adopted me. I am looking for my biological father or any of his family.
137. Donnaford67 : On June 17‚ 1989 My sister gave birth to a baby girl at the Charleston Naval Hospital in Charleston‚ SC. I was present at the birth and spent the next day or so with my sister and her new baby. Since my sister was not in a stable position to take care of a baby and give her the best life possible‚ my mother and I encourage my sister to give her baby to a family that could give her the best life possible with all the opportunities for a future. It was the hardest decision‚ not only for my sister but for our entire family. This baby girl‚ we have always referred to as BETH‚ was my first niece and my parents first grandchild. It has been a long time but I know my sister as well as our entire family have never forgotten Beth. I celebrate her birthday every year and hope one day we can meet and maybe heal my sister’s broken heart.
138. TarHealer : I was born in Charleston, SC at MUSC. My mother was born in 1951 and had long brown hair with fair complexion. My father was born in 1949 and had auburn hair with fair comlexion. They were not married. I was born by C-Section. Also, I think my mother graduated from Moultrie High School in 1969. My birth name was Christine or Christina Marie.
139. Kevinwarren : I am looking for my sister or half sister that was born a little more than a year after I was. I have no idea if we have the same biological father or not. I was adopted by my maternal grandparents. She was given up for adoption. My biological mother, Betty Warren, gave birth to this sibling in Columbia, SC I believe because she was living there at a home for unwed mothers. I did not learn about this sibling till after my biological mother passed away a few years ago. Her parents, my adoptive parents had died a few years earlier.
I think the birth date of this sibling is correct but am not 100% sure. Could be up to 6 months later. I was born on May 7, 61.
140. JPCBLW : We are looking for the person named as Sara Miles at the time of birth of our daughter, whose first name is Elizabeth, (Libby). Sara’s Mother’s name was known as Sharon Louise Walters at the time of Libby’s birth and the Address of Sara and Sharon was known to be 116 Owens Lowman Road, Irmo, SC 29063 at the time of birth. Libby was born at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC. Libby is quite interested in meeting her birth mother, if possible and we are also in favor of this, if possible. Sara was about 14 years old at the time of birth, making her about 31 now.
143. Adoptedin1973 : Born in North Carolina. Given up for adoption at birth. Young couple, mom is white, father black. I think my mother was from lower SC but went ro a home in Mecklenburg where she stayed until I was born
My records are in Raleigh NC. 1973 born 9/26
Closed adoption.
144. Member331780 : I am a white female looking for my birth parents. I was born on Sept 5 1968 at St Francis Hospital in Charleston SC. The attorney involved was Bobby Mallard
145. Bsdavis1969 : I am a 47 year old female who is searching for her birth family. I have always wondered where I came from. I now have a 3 year oldyes I said 3 year old-loland I would like for her to know my story. I have always been curious is I have brothers and sisters and there has always been this feeling of not being complete, not to mention my health history for my sweet baby. I want to know who I look like. I want to know my birth parents storygood or bad.
148. N_Shaw : My name is Haley Shaw I am the granddaughter of Martha Ann Shaw formerly known as Martha Ann Maner / Martha Ann Harrelson. My grandmother gave birth to seven living children throughout her lifetime April 30th 1933 to July 10th 2007. The majority of the time in her life that I am unable to track is in the South Carolina Charleston area.
My grandmother used the first names Marty Martha Ann and Martha and the last names Maner (maiden name) Harrleson, possibly Bennett and then Shaw.
My father is the youngest of seven he was born January 1967. He is my grandfather’s only child. My grandmother and grandfather met approximately January / February of 1966 it was at that time where they returned to the orphanage where my grandmother had dropped off four of her six children at the time to be adopted, they ranged in ages from newborn to 10 years of age in 1966.
The additional two children my uncle cap and my uncle Donnie were living with their father side of the family so she was able to get them back from those family members.
I was told by my grandmother sister that the girl that was adopted is a full blood relative of my Uncle Jim Bennett the girl may have Bennett on her birth certificate.
So I have an aunt and two uncle I have never met that were born in South Carolina probably the Charleston or surrounding areas. I found out this information in 2007 and I’ve been doing what research I could on my own and I’ve run into countless dead ends. I have done a DNA test but my DNA only goes so far seeing as these would be biologically half aunts and half uncles.
149. Cheerdemocracy : I am the wife of Matt Smith (mother Andrea Ferrell) who is trying to find his sister Fay. She was born September 15, 1978 in Charleston SC. She has two full blooded brothers, Matt and James. Matt is 34 and James is 36. I found the birth father of all three of them, however, he passed away before I got the chance to reach out.
