The upstairs neighbor raised me as her own. Her name was Rosa Grant and she lived on 17 Sheppard St. Charleston , SC 29403.

653. Sawyer81 : I was born at Baptist hospital in Columbia S. C. Father’s last name is Lown i beleive. Was adopted at birth in 1981 in aiken county (closed adoption). Dr. Postles was the dr who delivered me. I am 36. Phillips and williams are some names of my dads side
654. Loraina : He was born in West Virginia, but I don’t know where he was adopted. Adoption Services in Camp Hill PA might have been involved. I just sent in an Ancestry DNA test. Anyone looking should consider taking one or more DNA tests.
656. Gigi67 : I was born in Columbia, South Carolina to a single college student who was unable to care for me at the time. It was a private adoption with an attorney.
657. Desf3878 : My name is Deanna Elizabeth Shealy Fipps. I was born in Savannah, Georgia on March 8, 1978. My mother was young - 16 to 18 years old - and tried to keep me for three months. She realized she wanted a better life for me, and contacted a friend of hers to see if she knew of anyone that wanted to adopt a baby girl. Through friends she contacted my adoptive parents in May of 1978, and three days later she boarded a bus to Myrtle Beach, SC to bring me to them. Apparently she was with a male companion that was not my biological father. She told my adoptive parents that he was incarcerated at the time of my birth. She also did not want to put his name on the birth certificate because she thought he might try to get money from my adoptive parents. Her name was either Donna Price or Donna Wise, and she had named me Arenee Ann Price or Wise, after her middle name, Renee. She got off the bus in Myrtle Beach, SC and went to my adoptive parents’ attorney, Larry Hyman, to sign the paperwork. She and her friend stayed the night at the Holiday Inn in Myrtle Beach and left the next day in a car my adoptive parents had given her. Any information anyone has would help me so much. Thank you!
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
