166. Miriamnorris : I am trying to help my friend locate any family members. Virginia was her name but she goes by Miriam. She was told she was the daughter of a young girl, maybe 14-16, described as a skinny redheaded girl. Her adoptive parents picked her up in Columbia,SC. The adoption may have been arranged by someone at the Methodist university there.
167. PatriciaCash : Very legal adoption- I was born in the Florence Crittenton Home in Charleston SC. My adopted parents lived in St. matthews,SC at the time. The adoption papers have one name of my birth Father, but I have reason to believe my adopted Father is my Birth Father. I was named Baby Cleo or Chloe at first. My adopted parents lived on the Wannamaker farm and I was told that could be my birth Mother. Non of it adds up with the legal adoption. Always thought the papers were not right.thank you for your help
168. Jennifer9983 : Searching for birth parent(s) and possible siblings. Only info I have is that I was born September 9th 1983 at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg, SC. The adoption was private, and the adoption agent’s name was Janine Fleming.
170. AnnaPrewitt8899 : I’m trying to find my older brother, who my dad told me he had when he was at the age of 16. I’ve always been very curious about who he is because my younger sibling died 11 years ago and it would be nice to at least know who my older brother is. My dads name is Peter Prewitt and I don’t really know anymore details honestly at the moment. My dad like I said was very young and the time and doesn’t like to talk about it so it’s very hard to get information out of him. But I do know that he had to be born in the Columbia & Elgin area of South Carolina and I’m pretty sure he was born in 1990. Im very aware that this is not a lot of information to go off of but anything would help. My name is Anna Prewitt and if my brother is out there I hope to know who he is one day!!
171. Robinlgjohnson : Baker Hospital was where I was born on Feb 24,1957. Dr Matthew Steinberg was the ob/gyn who delivered me. I am a European by Decent per my DNA testing. She named her raquel at birth but believe her name was changed similar to mines by her adoptive parents. I believe it’s Christine or something close. My sister that was adopted should be 34 turning 35 in September.
176. Rwhitson83 : Was born at Xavier Roper Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston, SC. Birth mother was living at the Florence Crittenton House in Charleston at the time of the birth. Birth mother was about 13 or 14 at the time of the birth. Birth father was about 17 at the time of the birth. Birth mother’s father was in the military. Birth mother had a brother around the age of 9 at the time of the birth.
177. Simon1992 : Baby "Anthony" born in Columbia‚ SC in Richland County at Baptist Medical Center
on August 27‚ 1992 at 8:15 AM is looking for his birth mom.
According to the info given his mom was black but could have passed for white. She was 5’6" tall and healthy. His dad was medium brown and 5’ 11" tall. Both parents were in college.
This was a closed adoption handled by the state of S.C.
179. BarbaraTeal10 : My biological granddaughter was adopted in Columbia, SC 1993. Her mother was a student at the University there. My son is her father. I’d like there to be information available in the event she looks for her birth family. Her parents were 19 and totally incapable of parenting a child. The decision to allow her to be adopted was in her best interest. Mothers name was Tina Schaefer and fathers Christopher Teal. Both were residents of Rehoboth Beach, DE. I completed the medical history for her father. My name is Barbara Teal and I still live at the same address in Rehoboth Beach. Her father, my son, is deceased. Her mother is half Vietnamese.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
