She was adopted around the age of 6 months. My mother’s first home town living in was Williston SC then shortly later moving to Bamberg SC. Her adoptive parents are Paul and Patricia Whitaker. They also adopted 2 other children a few years later after they adopted my mother. I know I don’t have very much info but anything is worth a try!

Around the time of my birth my birth mother had 3 sister ages (21,19,2).Birth grand-mom (31 and was a x-ray tech in hosp),grand-dad (38 worked in a factory). According to records my birth mom was 16 and wanted to finish high school and pursue college.

Susankent : I was born I believe at Richmand memorialhospital June 5 1967 I was told that my birth mom’s name was maria stokes she left me with a baby sitter and at three months old she signed her rights over I was adopted by two wonderful people that gave me a great life who I call my parent my mom never showed back up to get me my parents had a private attorney my father sat outside my birth mom’s apartment for weeks trying to get up with her and when he did she agreed to let them adopt me and sign her rights over I’m not sure exactly how many siblings I have I believe 8 she gave us all up for adoption except for her last child she had my brother who she kept I dont know my father’s name at all all the siblings I believe we were all a year apart I remember also that my mom worked at amvets bar and also I the people that she left me with happen to be my adopted mom’s side of the family i really would love to meet my parents and my siblings just to let my birth parents now I’m not upset about you giving me up cause I ended up having a great life growing up military both my adopted parents were military so we traveled a lot my dad iwho was my adopted parent s from florida alford my mom iwho adopted me is from Charleston South Carolina I now live in panama city florida i have 3 kids 2 boys and a girl and i have 8 grandchildren and both of my adopted parents are deseased

1252. JessicaDillingham : Searching for a Male adoptee, born Michael Dean. Birthdate is 11/01/1968. Born at 2:38 at Medical College Hospital, Charleston SC. Weighing 6lbs 1/2 oz and 20 1/4" long. Was placed in a boarding home on 11/05/1968. Was adopted or placed by the Children’s Bureau on 01/30/1969. Finalized at 13 months. Adoptive dad was 38 at time of adoption and was 5’4" and adoptive mom was 5’2" and 33 years old. Both adoptive parents were from outside of SC. They had 3 other children. A 13 yr old son, 14 year old daughter, and 15 year old daughter. They were boarding parents for children who were placed adoptively. Michael was not one of them. Birth mother was Judith Corrine Hutchinson and Birth Father was Randy Brown. Birth mother was from Florence Critten home. Birth Mother was born 12/1/51. Michaels Dr was Dr. House and case worker was possibly a Caroline. I am the adoptees cousin.

She was born at Shaw Airforce base hospital in Sumter SC on March 18, 1983 at 5:29 a.m and weighed 7lbs 11oz. Her biological mother’s name is Norma Pitt. She was born African American and Caucasian. It is a possibility (not a fact) that she was adopted by a military family stationed at Shaw Airforce base in SC during the time.
1258. Angel69127 : I am searching for my grandma’s oldest sister. She was born in Oregon in 1919 but I don’t know if that is where the adoption took place. Her birth mom’s family originated from Virginia or West Virginia. Her birth mom died July 6, 1919. The name on the records I’ve found show her birth name as Marie Lois Hodges.

That is as much as I know about the adoption or my birth parents, until recently when I used a genealogy service to discover my lineage.
