I am trying to locate my adopted father’s birth family. He is still alive‚ living in the Philippines but quite unwell‚ with early memory problems‚ so I am trying to trace my biological grandparents identity and any family associated.
My father was born in Aberdeen to Irish parents. I was only informed that the parents were Irish very recently. My father has a deteriorating memory‚ but he had mentioned this fact some years ago‚ but had not told me!
We do know that his bio mother’s name was Annie Simpson. I believe I have located a birth record that fits the date and location of his birth. This was registered in Kincardine and my father’s middle name on the record was David Barrack Simpson.
From what my adopted nan has told me‚ when she was alive is that dad was adopted from Aberdeen through the church ( Church of England) and moved to Wembley‚ London when he was a baby or within 2 yrs of birth. His legal adopted name present day is Neville Cadoux.
His adopted wonderful parents who are no longer alive were Oliver and Muriel Cadoux. Their local church‚I’m not sure if this is relevant was the United Reformed Church in Wembley.
My recent DNA test from My Heritage has shown that I am 38% Irish‚ 35% Scottish 15% English ethnicity‚ so I’m really keen to unravel the mystery of my paternal grandparents. My Maternal great grandparents were from Glasgow.
