My mum was 17 at the time ( born in 1928) and the father worked on the shows/fairground, in Glasgow. His name would have been Alistair Moffat ( my mum’s maiden name), or Ramsay, my granny’s maiden name. I only found out all this information at a funeral a couple of years ago (of a cousin), my mother died 15 years ago My mother kept this a secret but my cousins knew about it .
