1201. Nahidaahmad : Mothers name Letitia Meeuwenoord
1207. Anne1965anne : I am looking for possible half siblings. My father was Samuel Iain Rae‚ from Glasgow. He was married but had me outside of marriage in 1965. He had got married to a Mary Brown in 1962. I presume that I have siblings. I have tried Ancestry and found my fathers family but he passed away in 1981. My mother may also have had other children‚ from the 1950s‚ into the early 60s. She travelled around a lot‚ between‚ England and Scotland. Her name is Martha Johnston.
1208. IAA28IAA : My mum was adopted (Iknow the names of birth parents) shortly after March 1929 in Scotland.
Looking for leads to her birth parents.
Have done my DNA and also my sons DNA which are uploaded to Ancestry and MyHeritage
1209. Leanne1970 : Hi
I am researching my family history and as yet have had little to no luck of tracing the background to my Grandmother’s birth‚ upbringing etc.
She was born 27th April 1926. She had a broad Scottish accent so would assume she was living there for quite a while. Not sure if she was born in Scotland or adopted out to a family or home in Scotland.
Arbroath and Edinburgh have been mentioned. She was in the WAAF and worked as a Land Girl‚ I cannot find any evidence of this so have contacted the RAF for clarification.
My Grandmother met my Grandfather (a German POW) in Coventry and they never married‚ although she took his family name of Witt. They went on to have 4 children. Unfortunately my Grandmother died in 1964 from Cancer so I never got to actually meet with her.
I visit her grave as often as I can and would dearly love to find out any information.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
1210. LauraHam2024 : Hi - I’m searching for a half brother‚ born in Scotland between 1959 - 64. My father was Alexander Moffat Hamilton (Sandy) and was around 15-16 at the time of the birth. I don’t know who the mother was‚ and not sure if she kept her son‚ or he was adopted. My dad was from Currie‚ Edinburgh‚ Scotland and left to join the RAF when he was 17.
1211. Tmainsw : Trying to find any birth relatives. Known information: We were told that birth mother was in her mid to late 20’s‚ and had a daughter already (around 2yrs at the time). Mother was from Glasgow and worked in a shop. Birth and adoption were in/around Aberdeen. Father is unknown.
1214. ChrisB82 : I am searching for my sister born under the name Susan McCallum Cairns on 20 February 1969‚ I am 42 years old and my mother has just informed me that when she was 16 her parents forced her to have an adoption. This was perhaps due to that generation and not being married to my father‚ this has been Unknown to me up until my father’s untimely death last week. My name is Christopher Brock‚ As far as I am aware‚ my sister was adopted by a couple living in Hamilton. And was organised through the national vigilance association of Scotland adoption society which used to be on Renfield Street in Glasgow. The birth certificate was registered in Glasgow under Susan McCallum Cairns by a registrar called John Hutchinson. The only documentation I have is a birth certificate and also a letter from the adoption agency providing a few photographs of my sister which was dated on the 13th of October 1969.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
