672. AndrewThomasTait : I’m looking for my sister who was named Amy Winifred Hinton at birth. Her birth mother had the same name and lived in St Boswells in the Scottish Borders.
She was born on 2 August 1953 at the Simpson Memorial Hospital in George Square‚ Edinburgh.
I’m not sure of the circumstances of the adoption‚ but our mother’s husband‚ James Smith‚ isn’t named as the father either on Amy’s birth certificate or on mine. I was adopted straight from the hospital after 2 or 3 days‚ so I’m assuming the situation for Amy was much the same.
674. Ilyia : James Gabriel Stevenson was born on the 29th of March, 1948. He was born in Keith, Scotland, and was adopted around 1953 by Isabelle Sutherland (born Murdoch). He lived in Moss Side Rothiemay growing up and in 2001 he moved to Ireland.
His birth mother is called Marjory Phyllis Stevenson (originally Smith). She was born on the 15th of February, 1928, in Springburn, Glasgow. She worked in Brigton House in Kinnettles, Forfar, until she was 19 (approx. 1947) when she fell pregnant.
It is believed that James’ father was a British/ Irish soldier who fought in WWII.
It is also believed that Marjory passed away in late 2019 in St Martha, Glasgow or Largs, Ayrshire.
675. Charlene1984 : Born in Rothesay hospital Scotland uk never seen by biological mother ‚ think biological mothers surname was Scott and named baby Alan .
