A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Kentucky Who Chose To Be Featured
1111. Ruthannmckay71849 : My birth name was Ruth Ann McKay. My BM was Betty Jane McKay. She gave birth to 6 kids and she kept 3 and gave away 3. Our BM never married and passed away 10 years ago. Last year I began my search on Ancestry and found my oldest sister and she was one that was (kept). She was born 1943 named Georgia and is 77. Next was the first (given away) sometime between 1943 and 1949. I do not know sex, name, or birthdate. This is the one I am searching for. Next was me,Ruth Ann, in 1949 (given away). Then came Joan in 1951(given away). Then Chuck 1968 (kept). Last was Myra Jane and she was (kept). We were all born in Kokomo, Indiana at the same hospital, St. Joseph Memorial and 3 of us were left there after our births. Four of us met
Christmas 1999 and our families. It was fabulous. We are all close and talk weekly, email etc. Then in 2020 during the pandemic I was able to find Joan. What a thrill to locate her. We have not been able to meet yet because of the virus but we all still talk and communicate. We want desperately to find the missing sibling and get us all together before one of us passes away. Hopefully, the one missing is still alive and wants to meet us too. It’s amazing that we all immediately felt love between us. Please contact me if you have any info concerning our missing sibling.
1112. Heather2001 : I was born in Louisville KY, on June 1st 2001. I was taken to UofL hospital where I was given up for adoption. I know my birth mothers first name is Teresa. My bio mom is white and my bio dad is black. I was told he was having an affair with her. I do not know any ages but I do know she had several children before me who also were put up for adoption. She also had a son after me who died at a young age.
1113. Sky2004 : I’m the mother to the adopted child’s half sister and I’m trying to help her locate her half brother. They obviously have the same father.
The adopted boy, Mason, was adopted shortly after his mother gave birth. She didn’t want a reminder of her affair with my husband (ex husband now). She told me she was giving Mason to her cousins whom lived outside of Illinois (where we all live) in a different state. I don’t remember the state she told me tho because that was 12-13 years ago.
I think my daughter deserves to know her one and only step sibling. And she wants to know him, too!
When college time comes along for both of them, I don’t want them to meet and fall in love and end up finding out too late that they are siblings. Mason’s mother, Mandy, shouldn’t want that either.
I think Mandy is afraid that if I find Mason, I will tell him about his real dad and what a narcissist he is and that Mandy doesn’t want her son to ever meet his birth father.

1124. MariaVonHandorf : SEARCHING FOR BIOLOGICAL FATHER
I am A biracial woman, born at Jenny Stewart Hospital in Hopkinsville, KY in August 1981.
Biological Mother’s name was Darlene Pastomerlo, I located her when I was 18. She told me my biological father’s name may be Michael Caul and he is African American. They both were in the military serving at Fort Campbell KY where they met. I was told that my biological father had a son already, maybe a few years old at the time, and was originally from IL maybe. I was told that my B/F tried to gain custody through the courts for almost a year while I was in foster care but did not win as he was single and in the military with no family to help him. My adoption was in August 1982 and was closed so records have been sealed. Hoping in the age of social media I can find him.
1125. LoboSolitario : Born St. Elizabeth’s, Covington, Ky. Was told by Catholic Adoption Agency that I had a "birth sibling" who was placed for adoption at the same time as I was. 46% German - 43% Sicilian. Am on AncestryDNA and 23andME
Adoption records indicate mother’s name was Virginia (Woeste) Shephard - Father’s name was Barney Shepard. Name at birth was Thomas Edward Shepard.
