1517. KYbaby54 : I found my birth mother‚ but she had already passed away.I have been in touch with the family‚ but they had no knowledge of me. My mother’s sister was aware but did not know who my father was. On Ancestry some people were identified as cousins‚ and we’ve been in touch. My father was one of 5 brothers‚ all in Kentucky‚ but only one is still living. Their last name is Toomey and lived in Lexington‚ KY. My cousin‚ Steven Toomey‚ and I think the living brother was too young in 1954 to be my father. I actually have my adoption records from Frankfort‚ Kentucky that I petitioned for and paid for several years ago…that’s how I found my birth mother‚ Dorothy‚ and family. I was born in a hospital in Covington‚ KY. (The man in the records she thought was my father was not. I found and met that family‚ also in KY.
I have the names and birthdates of the 5 Toomey brothers‚ of which one was my birth father. I would like to help others find their families…spent a career in investigations and research and we didn’t stop until we got answers. I am hoping to have another cousin on the father’s side‚ offer to do DNA testing. Her parents have passed and my cousin and I think he may possibly be the brother that was my birth father‚ based on age. My birth sisters and brother and I‚ on my mothers side‚ are all very close. It’s been a blessing‚ and they became very close to my parents who adopted me!!! It has been a blessing for all of us!!!
My husband is also adopted and I plan to put his information in your query.I have names but didn’t know if I should put them in this message. I may have gotten as close as I can get to determining which brother he was‚ outside of getting one of the cousins to submit to DNA testing.
1518. Sshanks : I am searching for my birth father. I know my birth mother’s name is Janet Pendleton Forbes. On my original birth certificate‚ my father’s name is Donald Forbes.
Per my birth mother‚ he was not my birth father‚ rather a "friend" that allowed her to use his name on my birth certificate. They remained married and had two daughters after me.
She would not give me any name for my actual birth father.
