A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within District of Columbia Who Chose To Be Featured
841. Hrbley : Searching for half aunt possibly full aunt. She would have been born between 1953-1959. The mother traveled to DC to give up baby girl for adoption. Unsure if she was born there or before. I was told noone knew the mother was pregnant. She was possibly 16 and the year 1955 but I am covering my bases in case she was older or younger. The father was military‚ branch and his name are unknown by me. Dna tests of nieces and a brother on file w/ ancestry‚ heritage‚ gedcom‚ etc.
842. Pooh0215 : My name is Michelle and I am looking for anyone who knows that their biological fathers name is Phililp (Phil) Ecker. I know he has lived in Florida. So far there are 2 of us that I have been able to find and I have been told that there are more. My father loved women and has been married 6 times if that helps. LOL!
843. MaryKaren : I do not know any names of persons involved. I believe that I was born at Providence Hospital‚ in NE Washington DC. And I was at St. Anne’s Infant Home.
845. Michtina : Hi - I recently learned that my (deceased) mother gave birth to a boy when she was very young and was forced to give up that baby for adoption.
No one still living knows any details other than she "went away" to stay with friends of the family in Washington‚ DC in spring/summer of 1963 or 1964.
I’ve learned that 2-3-4 years later‚ while she was dating/married to my father‚ she desperately wanted to find the baby boy. She was unsuccessful and horribly sad.
I’ve always known she had something sad in her heart my whole life. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother‚ but always had a sadness that she never shared‚ never talked about. I knew it must be something deeply personal‚ but never knew it was a baby. Trust me‚ she loved you with all her heart and soul and was emotionally tortured by family/church who forced her into adoption.
If you are looking‚ my brother and I are happy to know you and share her love with you. If you are not looking‚ know we wish for you the happiest life with love.
Every time I think about what she went through‚ I cry. I hate so much that she was separated from you. Even with the hole in her heart‚ she still loved. She loved everyone‚ her family‚ community‚ everyone. She never judged others (though she could hold a grudge when someone hurt someone‚ especially children).
851. Jreyn : I’m searching for my biological grandparents. My mother was born in October‚ 1966. She was born at George Washington University‚ in Washington D.C. The Montgomery County Social Services handled the adoption possibly in February‚ 1967. She believes she may have been fostered before the adoption took place.
852. ABfurnsculpt : I’m trying to find my mother’s sister. She was born in 1968 in Indianapolis‚ Indiana. I do not know state the adoption occurred. I do know that the birth mother turned 26 in 1968. The birth father was around 40. All this information has only been revealed by the birth mother in the past year. I have DNA on Adopted‚ Ancestry‚ 23andMe‚ MyHeritage‚ FamilytreeDNA‚ and GEDmatch. We’d really need that to match.
