783. Shel1983 : My aunt was raped as a teenager and became pregnant. She was supposedly sent to a Catholic place in Washington DC where they adopted her daughter out. All we know is it was in 1974. My aunt is Donna Jean Sylvain. She has unfortunately passed without ever finding her daughter. I still hope to find my cousin if she's willing to learn about her birth mother and her family. My son was born at GWUniversity hospital ‚Washington‚ DC ‚ on November 12‚ 1963. Patrick weighed 6 lbs‚ 9 oz‚ 20 inches long.At the time I was residing at the Florence Crittendon home‚ Reservoir Road‚ Washington‚ DC
I had him baptized at Our Lady of Victory Church which was located a short distance from the home.
Mrs. Garrity was my Social Worker-at the home.
The adoption process went through the Welfare Department in Washington‚ DC. I do not recall her name.
I took care of my son at the home for the maximum amount of time allowed which was twelve days.He was then picked up by the social worker‚ placed in foster care for one night then given to his new parents…He had on a blue outfit when he left the home..
He was absolutely Beautiful with eyes as blue as the ocean.
The only information I received from Mrs Garrity was that Patrick’s Dad had his own business in Washington‚ DC.

What little information my paperwork has is that my Birth mother was 15 at the time of my birth‚ and that my birth father was 19 and that he was a mechanic.

She then had 3 sons the first one born 1966 or 67. All 3 boys from her present husband in 1998ish. She had her own business and lived about 2 hours from Hagerstown‚ MD back around 1998. Also would love to find the 3 half brothers.
795. DJGT1957 : In 1961‚ a baby boy was born most likely at Sibley Hospital or maybe another (Providence?). The doctor who handled everything‚ including the adoption was Dr. William Robert Perkins. The father is unknown - the birth mother was divorced at the time of conception. Her names was Arlene Ann Birch Guthrie (later remarried to become a DeVaughn). The birth mother was born in 1942 I was born in 1957 and the adopted child sometime in 1961 (to the best of our knowledge). As a child‚ I had brown hair‚ brown eyes. Mother had brown hair‚ blue eyes. Please note: I never knew about this sibling until recently. Would be great to know what happened with him and praying his life was good. Birth mother would have been about 19 at the time.
