737. Thompson1958 : I gave birth to a baby boy whom I named James David on October 27, 1958 at Florence Critton House, Washington, DC
My name at the time was Joyce Lee Thompson
738. Carmenfharris : My dad Joseph Fridell had a baby girl in high school that was given up for adoption. He passed away in 1993. His family doesn’t know the name of the mother. They grew up in the D.C. area around Rockville and Langley Park, MD. Dad may have gone to Richard Montgomery High School.
739. Lorriane : My mothers name was Cecilia Bono. My mother had a little boy placed for adoption at birth. He would have left the hospital. Cecilia was born in Maryland and lived in Montgomery county. I do not know a year he was born but know he would by in his late 30’s. I think he was born in Washington DC a lot of babies in that area where born there.
740. Per.Fred.A : STEVE‚ you were adopted through the Catholic adoption agency. Didn’t know that I had a child until for about 15 years after the fact. The adoption most likely happened in SD through the Catholic adoption agency. I believe that baby was a male with a possible name of Steve (not confirmed) I worked for her dad on a farm within 15 miles from Parkston‚ we developed a relationship I was 20 or 21 mother was 16 or younger.
741. Allenw12 : My mother believes that my grandmother had at least one pregnancy that resulted in adoption when my mother was a young child. My grandmother was Nannie Mae Large Martin and she was born in 1920 in Virginia and lived for a while in both DC and Maryland around the 1940’s.
742. HarleyThompson : I am looking for my father’s biological parents. From the information I have been able to gather from my family, his birth name was Harley Thompson. He was renamed either at adoption or by the state his name is now Thomas Pearson.
His older sister was also adopted to the Pearson family. Her name is Stacey. The information I have gathered on her says that her name before the adoption was Stacey Christ (unsure if this name was given by foster parents or if it is her birth last name)
Another last name I was given that may be of use is Hughes. Though it was not made clear to me if this was the biological mother’s last name or another sister’s name. They believe they have another sister from what they are willing to tell me. My father was young at the age of adoption and doesn’t remember his birth mother. He has given me permission to find her if I can. My aunt, who may or may not remember more as she is older, is not as willing to discuss these things in detail, though she is how I learned my fathers birth name, he had only known his name as Thomas.
744. Arthur1983 : I was born January 2,1983 at General Hospital in Washington DC. I believe I was adopted shortly after birth my adopted family members told me I was an infant when this occurred. I was informed of my adoption few years ago and would like to meet my mother, father or any siblings I may I have. I would also like for my children to meet there biological grandparents
745. ChariL : My mother was date raped at the age of 19 while living in the Washington DC area. She hid the pregnancy from her family & gave birth to a baby girl around Christmas time‚ after she turned 20. She avoided the man who robbed her of her virginity against her will & never wanted to see him again. His name was Bob Dalton. I assume “Bob” is short for Robert. He did not know he fathered a child. My mother was an unwed woman in 1967 & not yet ready to be a mother‚ so she put the baby up for adoption. My mother’s name was Barbara Raye Salmon.
She grew into an incredibly strong woman. She did not want to selfishly ruin the adopted baby girl’s life by actively searching for her out of her own curiosity. She believed that she was easy enough to find if the child chose to look for her. I’m not so certain. She returned to her hometown of Chambersburg‚ PA‚ & married my father in 1974. They owned & operated the Rite Spot motel & restaurant in Fayetteville‚ PA until they sold it in 1979 in order to be able to spend more time together. They moved 2 miles East along the Lincoln Highway. I was born after a frightening miscarriage in 1981. Mom always said she was pregnant with me for 13 months. I arrived 3 weeks past my due date‚ but the miscarriage likely confused things.
I am an only child. I have no other siblings. My Dad passed away October 29‚ 2018 after a decade or more with vascular dementia caused by his diabetes. His personality changed & he became increasingly abusive. Mom endured constant emotional abuse 24/7 for years while literally waiting on the man hand & foot‚ lovingly caring for the body of the man he once was while he used her past trauma to shame her. That is how I came to know that I have a half sister somewhere.
I don’t think I’ve known another woman who took her marriage vows to care for her husband in sickness & in health as seriously as my mother. I truly believe she was a saint. While still grieving Dad’s loss‚ Mom & I contracted H1N1. I recovered. Mom did not. Despite my best efforts to save her‚ She passed away March 26‚ 2019. She told me that she would give anything just to hold Dad’s hand again. She found that opportunity & she took it. I saw it in her eyes as I was doing chest compressions.
Since the passing of both of my parents‚ I would like to know that my half-sister received the loving upbringing that my mother wanted for her. Like my mother‚ I do not wish to upset anyone’s life‚ but it would be wonderful to be found. It would be nice just to get to know her.
