A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Alabama Who Chose To Be Featured
751. Munchkinrl : My family has been searching for information on my great-great grandfather’s birth family...
The only information we have is he was born in Alabama August 29th 1863. His birth parents died when he was very young. He was adopted by a pastor’s family, rumor was his name was changed to John Wesley Smith after the adoption. They moved up to Ohio sometime shortly after. We have no idea if he had any siblings. He died in June 1920 in Ohio. His death certificate says unknown for both parents but birthplace was Germany for one parent snd Ireland for the other. We don’t even have any information on his adoptive parents either so we are unsure if the German and Irish heritage is his birth family’s or his adoptive family’s.
752. PamelaJSC : I am looking for my birth son that was born at Brookwood Hospital in Mountainbrook area of Birmingham, Alabama in May or June 1987. It was a closed adoption through Lifeline ran by Wales Goebal.
753. ScottDee : Looking for biological siblings on my bio father’s side. Most likely, all different mothers. I know the birth father’s name to be Tom Scime. I have done DNA testing on both 23 and me and ancestry.

760. Redrebeckka3 : I’m looking for my biological father. I know he was given up for adoption not sure when just found out who his biological parents were but unfortunately they’ve both past away n they gave him up
761. ElizabethBrand : Searching for my husband’s biological brother who was put up for adoption at birth, on or around August 16 1979. Birth mother Wanda Smith birth father Ray Mims. Born in Chilton or Jefferson county Alabama. May have been called "J" or "Jay". Even if it’s a long shot, feel free to contact me.
763. BKCCooper : My mom, Peggy Jeanette Raynes Crisp (b. 4-4-1931 - still living) lived in or around the Nashville, Davidson County, TN area at the time my half-sibling was born. My mom was an unmarried minor at the time she became pregnant during a relationship with a much older married man. I do not know this man’s name, but, I believe he passed away in or around the Nashville, Davidson Co., TN area sometime between 1960 and 1970 . My grandmother (Jeanette’s mom), Mildred Irene Stephens- Raynes-Haley would have most likely been the one to handle the adoption procedure. My mom, Jeanette Raynes Crisp, currently lives with me. She will not tell me any specific details other than she had a child who was placed into adoption very soon after the child was born. I am just concerned for the half-sibling for whom I am searching. I don’t even know if they are still alive. But, I want to help with reconciliation and healing for both my mom and the child while (if) my half-sibling is still alive.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
