A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Alabama Who Chose To Be Featured
181. Bettymcga : I am searching for the birth parents of a baby girl born January 19, 1990, 11:47pm in Cooper Green Hospital, Birmingham, AL. Her mother and father were not married. Her mother’s name is Carol Dannette Payne. I do not know the father’s name, but he was in the military at the time of birth. I adopted baby girl Payne and am trying to help her find her birth parents. She is doing fine, graduated from college and working full time. A beautiful young lady that any parent would be prould of.
184. Thenry104 : From what I have found out my mother was still in high school and got pregnant by her boyfriend who was also in high school. Her family was stationed at Fort Benning where her father was. Her mother was fluent in several languages and was very musical. My mother was sent to a home for unwed mothers to have me. I am unsure what home it was. I am not sure if I was born in or around Phenix City, AL or Fort Benning, Ga or Columbus, Ga as they are all close together and military families are prevalent in those areas. I’m sure it was not a choice for her back then as research shows that many unwed mothers were sent away and forced to give up their babies. After I was born I was not able to be adopted immediately due to stomach issues such as acid reflux or colic so I stayed in an orphanage of all girls so I’m sure I was spoiled. I would like to know who my birth parents are for reasons we all know. My adoptive dad seems to think that my original birth certificate had the name Carl on there.
185. DanniFrancis : I was 18 and a Sr. In High School..got pregnant, had a lovely little girl..Want to find her to let her know of the medical history of her maternal grandmother and aunts.
186. Paulnations1204 : My name is Paul and I am searching for my birth mother. I was released to the state of Alabama and in foster care after birth and was officially adopted at approximately 18-24mnths of age. I was born in Jefferson County, Alabama on October 22, 1985 and my original name after birth on my birth certificate was Paul Edward Cherry. I just recently requested my "sealed file" from the state of alabama and was given a copy of my original birth certificate prior to adoption, but there is not much to go by. No father listed, and mother was approximately 22 (i think) during time of birth. I am hoping to find any connection that will get me closer to the truth of who I am and where I originally come from.
187. Achtland : Name given at birth is supposedly Brenda Carol. Mother’s maiden name was Sanders, but may have used surname Tucker. Child was born in/near Birmingham, Alabama, at a Salvation Army home for unwed mothers. No real clue when/where/if she was adopted.
188. Mary Martin : My name is Mary Louise Blue Martin I am looking for my son born Donnie Ray Blue in April of 1962. My one wish is to know he is loved and. has a good family
189. Ashleigh86 : Looking for my twin aunts who were born on 12/03/1956 in mobile‚ alabama. My grandmother was in the Air Force and placed her twins for adoption after giving birth. I know that their original birth certificates are at the health department in Mobile and that the names on them are "Baby Girl A" and "Baby Girl B".
190. StaciH : I just want to know where I came from. I am the outcast in my adoptive family. I have a grown daughter now and grandsons and they are outcast. We just want to belong to someone and know who that person is.
192. Archiem5678 : The name of the adopted person is Archie Fisher. I was born in a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. I am fairly certain that I was placed into my first foster family when I was 3 months old and then I was adopted by a family living in Alabama when I was 22 months old.
193. Amandamcdonald : My grandfather was born in June 1925 and was adopted by John Henry McDonald, and his wife Cora Mae McDonald in Alabama. I am looking to find his birth family or any trace of it.
194. BabsBunni74 : My sister, Patricia Battle, placed a child up for adoption. It was very secretive and I don’t think she knew her family was aware and I think she has blocked it on of her memory. The baby was born in Mobile, AL at U.S.A Hospital. That is all I know.
195. Stewarta2 : Hello. My grandfather was adopted at the age of 7, and the adoption was a forced adoption. He was an interracial child, and this father was ran away from his family because he was Indian, or mulatto and the mother was White.
We are trying to right a wrong by finding out about our grandfathers family. He was adopted by a black family in Trinity Morgan Alabama. There is a 1900 census that shows him with the Williams family. His birth name was Grover Cleveland Ryman. His adopted name was Cleveland Robert Williams.
His mother was Mary Ryman (maiden name unknown), and his father was Grover Cleveland Ryman.
We believe Mary was born in Tennessee, but not sure. We do not know anything about his father Grover Ryman.
My grandfather was actually born in 1893. We have been told he was born in Virginis, but we are not sure.
Thank you,
Anna Stewart
