890. TheRealBradWalker : I am now 55 years old and learned that I was adopted after my adopted mom passed in 2021. Just looking to see who my birth parents are for medical history. 892. Wilsonty1995 : I was adopted at the age of 3 months in 1977. My birth mother had given me up for adoption immediately after I was born on December 8, 1976. I have never had any contact with her or anyone in her family, but I have been trying for several years now to find them. I have a family of my own, and would like to know where/who we come from, if there are any major health concerns that we should be aware of, etc. My wife and I went through the process of petitioning the state for my original adoption records, and we found some useful information there. At the time that I was born, my mother was residing at the Salvation Army Home in Birmingham, AL. She was originally from Sycamore, in Talladega County. Her name is Sandra Deneese Stewart (this is the spelling she used on the birth certificate), and she was 18 years old when I was born. She did give me a name before putting me up for adoption: Desmond Burnell Stewart. I have often wondered if these were family names. As previously stated, I simply wish for my children to have information about where their family came from, who they are, and what precautions they should take regarding their health as they grow older. If anyone has any information at all, please reach out. I would love to hear from anyone who could help with this! Even the smallest, most seemingly insignificant detail could be just what we need to find my biological family!
