196. Stewarta2 : Hello. My grandfather was adopted at the age of 7, and the adoption was a forced adoption. He was an interracial child, and this father was ran away from his family because he was Indian, or mulatto and the mother was White.
We are trying to right a wrong by finding out about our grandfathers family. He was adopted by a black family in Trinity Morgan Alabama. There is a 1900 census that shows him with the Williams family. His birth name was Grover Cleveland Ryman. His adopted name was Cleveland Robert Williams.
His mother was Mary Ryman (maiden name unknown), and his father was Grover Cleveland Ryman.
We believe Mary was born in Tennessee, but not sure. We do not know anything about his father Grover Ryman.
My grandfather was actually born in 1893. We have been told he was born in Virginis, but we are not sure.

So unfair to those who were not involved in their decision to have an affair. OUR birth father would be Charles William Davis and the birth mom would have been later my step mom and her name is Martha No Davis, at the time they had affair my dad was 20+ y3ars older than her. 20 plus years or more and was involved with Charles on a pretty serious affair that broke up my parents marriage. Word around town was that she bad to leave town to try and hide the pregnancy and figure out how to move forward. I know very few details and that’s only from the boxes of pics and papers I found when I was little with my brother, I think she was born possibly in Athens Alabama but if not it was Hickory NC, I will try and talk yo my step mom again to see if she will talk.
