Her birth mom’s family originated from Virginia or West Virginia. Her birth mom died July 6, 1919. The name on the records I’ve found show her birth name as Marie Lois Hodges.

Adopted at birth, ignore the "year after birth", I had to choose an answer too complete this. The birth mother lived in Portland, Oregon around the 140th street and Foster Rd. area. I did a y-37 DNA test and matched 3 people with a surname of Stewart and I am in the I-M223 Y-DNA Haplogroup. A half-sister informed me that the birth mother said my father’s name was Harry Stewart (Stewart). Thanks to my FTDNA Big Y test I know my surname is Stewart. Please, if you are a "Stewart" (Stuart) do a Y DNA test.
