A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within South Korea Who Chose To Be Featured
1201. Tniedzie : I was born in Daegu‚ South Korea. My birth mother's name is Hong‚ Yong-Duk (홍용덕). My birth father died in 2003. My birth mother said that I have an older sister and brother. I am searching for any family member that is seeking contact with me.
1202. Jskimadams : Birth mom Kim‚ Lee Soon 18 years old according to records from White Lily's Orphanage. She lived in Dongwon Inn. Her friend Choi‚ Bong Youn (21 y/o) surrendered child to Deoksan Police Substation who then admitted child to White Lily's Orphanage. Last orphanage was Daecheonwon. August 7‚ 1985 child was placed in a foster home in Seoul‚ foster mother was Chung‚ Yi Youn.
1203. YoungJoonPark : I was told my birth mother was very young when she birthed me. I was born in Busan‚ South Korea. Their was no information about my father. My birth name is Young Joon Park‚ once adopted my new parents changed my name to Parker Bergum.
1204. Skoreanprincess : Helping my daughter search for birth mother/family. Born with medical issues and was told she was "abandoned" through Holt International and Bethany Christian Services. Had a prior surgery in Korea for cleft lip and palate and it is unknown if it was before or after she was surrendered. Placed in an orphanage outside Korea. Is 40 years old now and successful living in the United States.
1205. Crawfan2 : Looking for birth parents. I was born in 1973 in Busan korea. I was dropped at the Little Flower Orphanage at around 6 months to 1 year old. My name was Ahn Eun Jung.
1206. WoonJooSung : I was adopted in 1974 (when I was more than a year old) by Danish parents via adoption agency HOLT. According to the information my adoptive parents got from HOLT‚ I was found in a cinema in Busan when I was about 5 months old‚‚ and before I was placed in the Holt orphanage‚ I was in foster care. The Korean name when adopted was Sung Woon Joo‚ but it might just have been a random name given by the agency HOLT.
1208. Emilylesner94 : My adopted name is Hye Ryun‚ Shin. My birth mom name is Sang Hee‚ Shin. My birth dad name is Tae Young‚ Kim. My case number is 94C-572.
They used the Eastern Child Welfare Society‚ Inc Foster Home.
It says birth place was Kyungsangnam-do.
The last known address for my mom was Tanyang‚ Chungchongbul- do.
My dad joined the defense corps.
Had me at the Haesung Hospital in Ulsan‚ Kyungsangnam-do.
1209. KDD2018 : This adoption was for a toddler-aged street orphan in Seoul‚ Korea. No identity on her at all when taken to an orphanage. Her year of birth showing on adoption records as being 1976 is a total estimate by doctors using bone age‚ teeth‚ etc. I was forced to select a birth month and date in making this profile but we truly have no idea when that was. Zero clue as to month‚ day or year due to child being an abandoned toddler. We're hoping there's a sibling out there looking as we've been told that street orphans of toddler age usually had an older sibling with them. We know that Friend of Children of Viet Nam stepped in to assist in many Korean adoptions. Other than that we know nothing other than one photo that supposedly has a foster other in it which I'm guessing no longer is alive by the looks of the photo in 1979.
1210. MayaTucker : According to adoption papers‚ they indicate that I was taken to the Shinkyo Police station and then on to Holt agency. Additional information on intake forms indicate the case worker as Kim Kyung Shin
1211. Leenakwon86 : When I was a kid I never knew my real family because my adopted family never tell me anything about them when I was asking they always told me I will never really be loved because they always tell me that's why my real family put me up for adoption and that's why they made a mistake to adopt me but what's done is done and now I found this on Instagram to see where I belong that's why I'm trying
1212. Fauan : According to paperwork‚ I was abandoned at a Dangboo Police Station before being transferred to 'CBH'.
CBH then referred me to Holt Adoption Agency‚ which took over.
I stayed with a foster family for a while‚ who‚ back then‚ were:
Father (44)‚ a day laborer‚ Mom (40)‚ 2 foster brothers who were engaged in a small business (17 & 20)‚ and two younger foster brothers (10 & 12) who were in school. I slept on my foster mother's back and tummy. According to notes‚ I was very doted on in that home.
After I was cleared to be adopted‚ not even 2 months later‚ I was adopted by an American couple.
I plan to go back to Korea soon‚ and it would be nice to reconnect with anyone from my birthplace.
1213. Vforney : I was born in Daegu in January 2001‚ I left Korea by May and was in Seattle by June. It was a closed adoption. I was named Eun Jee Shin.
1215. SooHee1983 : The documents say I was found at some station in Kwang Ju‚ 1984‚ with a note with the date of my birth 13th of April 1983 and name Soo Hee. I was send to Seoul and the SWS center before I came to a foster mom in Seoul‚ and lived there a couple of months before adoption to Sweden. I had burn scars on my belly and right underarm. No information of my birth parents but a short letter with gratitudes to the president and a wish that I would be adopted.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
