A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within South Korea Who Chose To Be Featured
1171. Hellomisuk : The adopted woman's given name was Misuk‚ and her surname was Yim. Her mother apparently‚ at the time of giving her child up for adoption‚ was tall with acne. The reason she gave her child up for adoption was because she was unmarried‚ and did not have enough money for the baby. If you have any info‚ please contact me!
1172. EunHye : My adoption was a closed one. I wasn't given any information. After I was born I was placed with a family in South Korea that gave me my Korean name until I was adopted.
1173. Shelbykyungae : I was adopted through Holt Children Services in South Korea to a family in the United States. I was born in Suwon‚ Kyonggi province.
1174. OakParkJung : My parents (Iowa) adopted my sister from Korea in 1971 from Holt adoption agency. She was born on 1/21/1971 and came to the US in Oct 1971. They were barely given any information about her‚ or her birth parents. My parents were told she was left somewhere and abandoned. Unfortunately‚ my sister ended up getting leukemia‚ and because we could not find her a bone marrow match‚ due to my family always believing that there were no records‚ or even a known birth name....she sadly passed away in 1992. With the recent news regarding the Korean adoptees from Holt agency in the 1970s‚ I cannot and will not rest‚ until I know where my sister came from. My family and I need to know if she had or has family somewhere in Korea‚ if so‚ I want desperately to find them and to let them know where their baby girl went‚ and the amazing person she grew up to be while she was alive.
1175. Stephpax : A few years ago a family member received a call where someone was looking for his father‚ an American man with red hair with the last name Paxton. This does describe my paternal grandpa who was deployed is South Korea. The relative who received the phone call was not kind‚ nor did they speak for the rest of us. We would love to find whoever it is and see if we are family.
1176. Awestmoreland : My birth name is Koh‚ Seon Yeong. I was born on March 26th‚ 1988 to Lee‚ Mee Jah and Koh‚ Seong Doo. According to my papers I was born in Kyonggi-do and transported to Seoul's Eastern Child Welfare Society 2 days after I was born.
My biological parents had 2 sons before me (names unknown). My father was born in Mungyeong‚ Kyongsangbuk-do and has 3 siblings. My mother was born in Chongeub‚ Chollabuk-do and has 8 siblings.
After arriving at Eastern Child Welfare Society‚ I was placed with foster mom Kim‚ Yeon Soo and foster dad Lee‚ Hyeon Jae. They have 2 sons (Lee‚ Wee Byeong and Lee‚ Se Byeong).
1177. Fredbird1211 : Her birth name was listed as Kim Young-hee (김영희.)
She was adopted from Seoul‚ South Korea and brought to St. Charles‚ Missouri.
Her DNA test said she is 100% South Korean‚ from Seoul.
I am her daughter and do not know much about any records or anything but it would be nice to find any relatives.
1178. TLWante : I believe I was born in Seoul‚ South Korea.
I was born with the Name

I became a citizen of the United States as Timothy Lee Wante.
1179. Adysen : I was adopted from Daegu‚ South Korea in 2004 and was under the foster care of Mrs. Gong‚ Myeong Soon at Eastern Social Welfare Society Inc. in 2004. My birth mom was 19 when she had me‚ was about 5'6 and 99 lbs with a husky voice‚ dark skin‚ round eyes‚ thick lips‚ and enjoyed listening to music. Her hometown was Gyeongsangnam-do. The only name she provided was Kim.
1180. DuncanClift : Hello‚
I am searching for my birth parents and biological family and hoping to reconnect with anyone who may have information about my origins.
I was adopted from South Korea‚ and unfortunately very little information was shared with my adoptive parents by the orphanage. What I do know is that my adoptive father was stationed overseas in the U.S. Navy‚ and my parents visited me regularly at Jinhae Hope Children’s Home in Jinhae-gu‚ Changwon City‚ Gyeongsangnam-do‚ South Korea.
I lived at the orphanage until I was around three years old‚ after which I lived with my adoptive parents in Jinhae. My adoption paperwork was completed on September 30‚ 1988‚ and in 1989 I moved with my family to Virginia‚ USA‚ where I was later naturalized as a U.S. citizen.
My Korean name was Park Myung Su (박명수). I was born on June 6‚ 1984‚ and I have been told that I may have had one brother‚ though I have no further details.
If any of this sounds familiar‚ or if you have information that could help connect me to my birth family‚ I would be deeply grateful to hear from you. Even small details could mean a great deal to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
1182. YangSoon1971 : I was born as a Korean–Caucasian. Adopted in the summer of 1972. My documents state that my birth mother’s name is Boo Ja Cho. I was born in Yongtae-Ni‚ Wolkok-Myon‚ Paju-Kun‚ Kyonggi-Do. My first name is Yang Soon Cho.
1183. Anbok11 : I was born December 16‚ 1976. I was dropped off at a police box in April‚ 1979 with my birthdate pinned to me‚ and adopted in December‚ 1979. I don't know my birth name. The name given to me at the orphanage was An Bok Kwok.
1184. Jennie_867 : My adopted mother told me that I was a day old when they adopted me. I flew to the U.S. 3 months later. When I was 7 my parents went back to South Korea and they went to the orphanage. They told me it had burned down. I have no other information from them as they are both deceased now.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
