A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within South Korea Who Chose To Be Featured
1126. Sarahstroczan : My name is Sarah Kim Stroczan.
I was taken to the Pohang‚ Eastern Child Welfare Society Branch.
On my report it has:
Mother: Choi‚ Mee Yeon aged 34 from Kyongsangbuk-do
Father: Kim‚ Yong Sool aged 41 who was a mechanic
I have since found out that my files were falsified and my parents were infact married and I have potentially 5 older sisters who I would like to connect with.
I was apparently born in Ankang Song Shim Hospital.
I was transferred to 'Angel Babies Home' in Seoul on 13th of August 1986 and placed with a foster Mother: Mrs. Hong‚ Seong Ja.
1128. Tjung : After living a life full of trauma and uncertainty‚ I am trying to find the names of my birth parents and where I was born.
All i know is that I was born in South Korea. Please help me.
1129. NWFW3890 : I was adopted out to the United States as an infant‚ but was told I had been left on a door step outside of an orphanage in Seoul shortly after birth in 1984. I was adopted out through Catholic Charities and Holt Children’s Services. I have never tried to find any biological family member before‚ but would love to find any little bit of information that I can.
1131. SooMe : I went through Eastern Social Welfare Society. One of my adoption paper is signed by Kim Duk Whang. I was supposedly abandoned at the age of 4 at a Women’s place in Busan. I recall being taken by a man and was brought to an orphanage that had a big blue metal gate and I had to take a big step over a metal bar.
1132. Soohanlee : I was adopted in 1985 and have never really expressed interest in finding my biological parents. As I’ve gotten older‚ I realize that my parents are probably in their 50’s and 60’s and I may never get the chance.
1133. SeoulSister74 : Abandoned‚ taken or 'found' and was brought to Ilmaekwon Babie's home in Kunsan‚ SK by Youngjun Kim‚ Yunjae Lee (or Mr. Kim‚ Myung Choon > possible translation descrepency) at Jigyeoung-ui‚ Daeya-myeon‚ Okgu-gun. Assuming this is near Kunsan. An infant hospital name is on the side of the intake/out form Yimai Infant Hospital. I can't find that when I searched online. The intake date is somewhere between March - September 24/25‚ 1973 or 1974. It appears the year was changed on adoption paperwork to 1974 as a birthyear.
I was placed by David Livingstone Foundation *USA via Eastern Social Welfare Society to the US in January 1977.
1134. Jbailey1882 : I am searching for my birth parents. I know very little of my birth parents. The only thing I do know is that my birth mother had an affair with a married man and she ended up getting pregnant with me and she was 28 years old when that happened.I know that I was born in Pusan‚ South Korea and was in an orphanage in Seoul‚ South Korea until I was adopted. My Korean name was Yoo In Sook. I was born on January 8‚ 1982 and was adopted to the United States on May 5‚ 1982 through the adoption agency called Wide Horizons. As far as any information for my birth father‚ I honestly have none. I am really wishing to find my birth parents. I have been going through some medical issues and am curious if they may be hereditary and also could have been passed to me.
1135. Tinamichelle79 : I recently found out that I was adopted in April 1980 and it was a private adoption by an older lady in or near Geyonggi-do‚ South Korea.I have 3 older sisters.the agreement lists the following:
Biological Parent:
Jeong Ok-bun
Address: Cheongju City‚ Bukjeong-ro 2-ga‚ 115-beonji
1136. Cbeck50 : I was born in Pusan‚ Korea according to my birth records. It states that my biological father passed away and my birth mother gave me up for adoption.
When I was given my name‚ it was Mee Yun Oh‚ but in my paperwork it states that it is Mi Yeon. It is also indicated that my birth mother's last name was Kim.
While it does not indicate I have an older sister‚ it does state that I knew very specific words‚ including "older sister" and clung to the older children in the orphanage.
1137. Torimyers : When I was born I was names Hong‚ So Ra. I was born October 24‚ 1984. The name I go by since I was adopted is Tori Myers but I'm looking for my birth parents. I was born in Buchon City. All I know of about my birth parents is that they were unmarried when they had me. The birth parents worked as a plant worker. The birth father left my birth mother and had nothing to do with me. That's all I know.
1138. JJ8881 : I don't know much other than that Parsons was the agency and my birth mother was a factory worker who became preganant on vacation in South Korea in November of 1980. She tried to locate my birth father‚ but was unable to.
1139. KimShinDuk : I have no birth certificate. I am thinking my birth parents are no longer living. Therefore‚ I am looking for any family member: siblings‚ cousins‚ aunts and uncles.
1140. Scarlettmoon016 : my name in Korea was Eun Jee. My birth mom was 17 years of age and my birth father was 18 years of age and gave me away due to financial reasons.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
