220. Clindsay3 : My grandmother was Louise Goodwin, She also had papers that showed her name as Opal Louise Gandy. Goodwin was her married name. She lived in Hattiesburg, MS when I was small and owned a cafe which she sold corn whisky and was busted by the police several times but she had a good lawyer and she was always set free to continue operating her cafe. The lawyer was the same person who did my adoption. We lived on Tuberose street in Hattiesburg, MS. Her daughter lived in Laural MS with her other children. I remember I was about 3, 4, or 5 when I began to live with her. Shortly moving to Louise house I learned to ride a 3 wheel bike. Louise moved to Palmers Crossing where she worked for a lady name Elnora Knight. She later moved to Wilmer AL where she later died and is buried. Louise never told me who my mother was. She wanted me to believe that I was her birth child. She showed me pictures of a baby girl which she said was her daughter but she said the daughter died as a baby. I once was taken to visit a woman who lived in Laurl, MS who had many children. When I arrived at the house, there were two well dressed women sitting in the room waiting with Louise while I was taken to visit a woman in the next room who was in bed as if she was sick. I never got to meet any one else, and the other children were forced to play outside the entire visit. Louise has since died and my story died with. Also, other family members who know my origin have passed away as well. When I was about 7 Louise broke a leg and I went to stay with cousins, the mother was named Gussie Hinton. She had 9 children. Several cousins helped me learn this year that Louise was my grandmother. None of us knew. They, like I was told that I was family. We were not permitted to ask a lot of question about me when I was growing-up. A lot of people were afraid of Louise. I also remember finding adoption paper wit my name on them which said my mother was named Cleo Gamble Hart and my father was named Leo Hart. Louise learned I had found these papers and took them from me. I never saw them again. I probably got a bad spanking because I never did anything with this information. Also my name was changed at one time from Corne to Connie and from Robertson to Goodwin. Louise boyfriend was named Robert Lee Robertson he is also deceased.
221. ShakiaCash : My mother was young when she had my brother. She had already had this 2 year old to take care of but had another child down the road. I just want him to know that we love him and you were taken due to some hateful relatives. We want to meet you oh so bad you have 2 beautiful sister and a great mother. we love you Lamarrae
222. Jenniburr01 : My father traveled for work and I know that I have other siblings. I’m not sure of names or birth dates. He passed away when I was a year old. This siblings would be from my father only and not my mother. He was from Hickory/Newton MS.
224. Lmurpht10214 : I was born in Gulfport, MS, but my adoption was finalized in Meridian, MS. I was 5 days old when they brought me home from the hospital.
