1038. J_Oesterheld : According to the court records that I was able to access‚ my birth mother traveled from Pittsburgh‚ Pennsylvania to Fairmont‚ West Virginia shortly before giving birth to me. I was born December 28‚ 1977 at Fairmont General Hospital. According to the record my birth mother's name was Sylvia Jackson but she also used the alias‚ Frances Smith. My given name at birth was Melissa Ann Jackson. In February of 1978 there was a court proceeding that determined that I needed to be removed from my birth mother's care due to her mental distress at the time. My adoption proceedings were finalized on May 5‚ 1978 at the Marion County Circuit Court in Fairmont‚ WV. I have searched all of the ways that I know how to search but have never found any additional information leading me to my birth mother or additional family.
