758. 101880male : Hello‚ I am searching for biological relatives out of curiosity. My birth certificate was altered to show my adoptive parents as my bio parents. It has me listed as being born in wheeling‚ WV. None of my genetic searches have shown any distant relatives being from that area‚ and the closest match I have gotten to date is in the 2nd cousin range. Those listing show more Oh‚ PA‚ and Kentucky origins. My altered birth certificate has my dob listed as the 18th of October‚ 1980. Any information is appreciated‚ thank you!
760. Tahoeaway : My half brother had a baby out of wedlock. I know very little about it except my parents (the adopted child’s grandfather and 2nd wife) desperately wanted to adopt the baby. The mothers family blocked it at every turn and I believe she was a high school student at the time. His sister and husband also offered to adopt the baby and were blocked. This is a loss we have felt in our family for a very long time and I would like to rectify it. This child (believed a girl) was wanted and would’ve been my sibling. I believe the child was born in 1973 or 1974 but I can’t be for certain.
761. Hopewv1 : I am searching for my sister. Birth name Megan Marie Hopkins. She is a very special individual. She was born with many many birth defects. She was from Bluefield WV originally‚ then taken to Colin Anderson institution. She was found by my parents when she was about 18 months old. They fell in love with her right away. I was told some stories as a child such as one of the grandmother’s would send Megan little gifts till she was 5. Also‚ how her parents might have wanted to keep her but some family members told them it was best to give her away. Our mother also said they saw some of her biological family in Hagerstown mall one time‚ but they didn’t come say hi.
Megan is now 40 yrs old and she has lived a wonderful life. Im willing to tell her bio family all about her if they would like.
763. Tricia48629 : I have met my Birthmother & it wasn’t a happy reunion. She now refuses to tell me the name of my Birthfather. I know his name isn’t on my “original” birth certificate but I have the full‚ but heavily redacted Social Worker’s Report. Birthfather is described in detail & named but name is redacted. I was briefly a Ward of State as well. Birthmother lied to Birthfather‚ telling him she was NOT pregnant. She gave birth to me at home‚ professing she didn’t know she was pregnant even though I was almost 8 lbs! My birth grandmother called the hospital for her…ugh. So ridiculous.
764. PLW1976 : My mother gave birth to a
son in Louisiana. She has never met him since that day. I don’t even know his birthday. I think it was a babtist adoption agency but not sure. She stayed in a babtist hospital for unwed mothers. She was 16. She stayed at sellers home for unwed. His name was Charles Adams and his birthday is Sept 25 1964
765. Tammycarpenter1 : Margaret pauline Harris-Hoover was listed on birth cert. No hospital records or foot prints on Bc. Weirton General hospital was supposed hospital
