Adopted.com is proud to offer a country-wide Adoption Reunion Registry for Australia where you
can meet by mutual consent whether you've accessed your adoption records or not. From Perth
to Brisbane and everywhere in between, if both parties want to meet then you can find each
other on Adopted.com!
In Victoria, adult adoptees (18 and over) are able to obtain access to identifying information
including their original birth certificate, court and agency records. Those wishing to obtain access
to information must also participate in a mandatory interview, which can take place in person or
over the phone in the case that the adoptee lives overseas. As of July 1, 2013, birth parents are
also able to obtain identifying information regarding the adopted child.

687. HeatherMary53 : I believe my adoption may have1 been through The Sisters of The Community Name CHN‚ an Anglican Order in Fitzroy Victoria who cared for young single mothers-to-be and later their babies who went up for adoption. Many of these adoptions were pre-arranged. I also believe that the nun who was involved in this was Sr Agnes Mary CHN who died many years ago and has a memorial at Retreat House Cheltenham.
