Victoria Adoption Reunion Registry

Adopted.com is proud to offer a country-wide Adoption Reunion Registry for Australia where you can meet by mutual consent whether you've accessed your adoption records or not. From Perth to Brisbane and everywhere in between, if both parties want to meet then you can find each other on Adopted.com! In Victoria, adult adoptees (18 and over) are able to obtain access to identifying information including their original birth certificate, court and agency records. Those wishing to obtain access to information must also participate in a mandatory interview, which can take place in person or over the phone in the case that the adoptee lives overseas. As of July 1, 2013, birth parents are also able to obtain identifying information regarding the adopted child.

421. Tanyavalentinesday : Hi I was adopted via the royal woman’s hospital in Carlton Melbourne australia‚ where I was born at just after 11pm on Saturday 14th feb 1981‚ I was born to a single lady of age 22 (I think) who had suffered fb which caused her to leave secondary school early - she had broken up with my biological father before I was born and likely never knew she was pregnant‚ despite this I have a few details about him also‚ according to info provided in a letter from the adoption agency through the royal woman’s‚ he was a graffic artist‚ and Caucasian‚ there is no mention of her nationality or heritage‚ however there is a physical description (which it a literal description of myself also) which mentions tall slim olive skinned‚ long dark hair and dark eyes‚ also. In the letter (which accompanied me when my adoptive parents brought me home with them from ocean grove where I was fostered by a lady named Shirley between my birth and my adoption-three months or so I think) there is mention of her creative nature and both of their artistic characteristics also partiality to swimming - the most memorable part of this page and a half typed letter-for me has always been‚ towards the end: “birth mother would not object to future contact from the child” which for 41 years I have held dear! I have no idea what I was called for the three months preceding my adoptive parents collecting me but have to imagine there must have been some name used before I was given the name Tanya Louise Manditch which is on my “birth extract” which was lodged I think between July and sept 1981- I was adopted by Robert and Elizabeth Manditch‚ and have ALWAYS wanted to find my birth family - more so every year that goes by x
