Adopted.com is proud to offer a country-wide Adoption Reunion Registry for Australia where you
can meet by mutual consent whether you've accessed your adoption records or not. From Perth
to Brisbane and everywhere in between, if both parties want to meet then you can find each
other on Adopted.com!
In Victoria, adult adoptees (18 and over) are able to obtain access to identifying information
including their original birth certificate, court and agency records. Those wishing to obtain access
to information must also participate in a mandatory interview, which can take place in person or
over the phone in the case that the adoptee lives overseas. As of July 1, 2013, birth parents are
also able to obtain identifying information regarding the adopted child.
A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Victoria Who Chose To Be Featured
541. Dmc73 : My mother and father had a child out of wedlock in 1966. 5 years later they ended up getting married and having myself and three other children. My name is Danielle and I’m the "eldest" of the further children. My siblings and I did not find out about our brother Michael James until we were adults. We have previously tried to find him but at the time I believe he was not open to it. I would love to at least meet him and hopefully form a relationship of some type.
542. HaydnDinsdale : My mother was put up for adoption in her first week of being born (at the end of September/start of October) 1968. She was adopted from Queen Victoria Hospital in Melbourne.
I’m trying to figure out who her birth parents were/are.
Mum was a blonde haired baby. The only other thing that I know is the agency that my (adoptive) grandparents went through was Anglicare Fitzroy Mission House (Mission From the Streets To the Lanes).
544. TerrySimone2907 : I was born in Geelong. My Birth Mothers name is Andrea and i believe she and my adopted mum Sheree have exchanged letters via the adoption agency when i was younger. I know she had a son called Aaron and was pregnant with another child. The letters then ceased when i was about 11 and left to me to contact if i wanted to.
545. Trishalomes : Mrs Phyllis Jean Mary Stephens ( née McRae) married William Stephens in 1935 in Brisbane. Phyllis previously had 3 children father unknown. Joan‚ Herbert‚ Alfred. William was not the father of the fourth child so was adopted out. Joan and her two brothers were left at St Vincent’s orphanage nudgee in Brisbane. Would dearly love to find the fourth child who would be my uncle or aunt and connect with their children. Many thanks for any help. Trish
546. Samanthaapulu : I am searching on behalf of my mother.
Her birth certificate indicates she was born in Geelong Victoria June 20th‚ 1970) however this date may have been altered. Her guven name is Nerida. Her adoptive family have connections to both Victoria (Geelong) and Western Australia. My mother is of indigenous heritage confirmed by blood work.
Any information would be so helpful in hopefully connecting my mother to her family
547. Beautifuloctober : My daughter was born in Mercy Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. She was with me for 4 months roughly after her birth. I attempted to adopt her before this but decided to get her back. Then due to very difficult personal circumstances (I was an in-patient of the then Parkville Psychiatric Hospital) decided that she should be given up for adoption.
548. Mery080671 : I was Born on the 8/6/1971 at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Carlton Melbourne victoria. I am a Twin but they told my brother had died at Birth and that there is no death certificate or even on my birth certificate it doesn’t state that l am a twin. If he reads this l would love to know anything about you because our mother is dying of cancer so l thought that maybe he should know. I just found out that if you were born prem which l was then they would put down the birth date which was ment to happen so maybe it says 8 August 1971

I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
